If anyone doubts this is the reason for the recent changes to the daily achieves, I suggest you look at the WvW list today.

“Kill a Veteran Creature” is on the list today.

Obviously, in our rush for PPT and PPK, we haven’t been killing Henry or the Harpy or Warg often enough.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

Anet have always referred to WvW as PvE. The additions that have been made to WvW have generally been PvE in nature.

WvW is heading more towards PvE than RvR mechanics because Anet are trying to encourage the PvE population to participate in WvW more actively.

I think as far as Anet are concerned EotM is a WvW success story as there are always many players there so it’s likely that is the direction that WvW will continue to go in.

I don’t WvW very often, pretty much never actually (Zerg vs Zerg, bleh). But I wish the other WvW maps were similar to EotM, not karma train-wise, but the layout would offer some truly impressive choices tactically.

yeah, EB and the BL have their own charm to be sure, but they can get a bit boring after a bit, especially with all the npcs looking the same and the terrain being somewhat homogeneous with slight texture changes.

My biggest annoyance with eotm as a map is the over abundance of npcs and the effort it takes to kill them along with the auto-fire cannons

I have been killing tons of veterans before i found out there was a veteran creature daily still sitting on 0%. Turns out to be a pve achievement in wvw.

Whats next, daily wvw champion killer which will be the spider?

I agree this is disappointing. I also do not like the take a keep objective since some heavily outmatched servers have nearly zero chance to cap a keep.

They should keep the “dailies” as something that can be done in casual play and designed for the setting. Kill X WvW players is a far better objective than the veteran one.

Frankly, the WvW daily’s so far have been a lot easier than the others, you can often get 2-3 of them solo in a few minutes. As opposed to the PvE ones where you usually have to run at least half the different parts of the game.

Remember that you can also combine them, so pick 2 easy ones from WvW and 1 from PvE for daily.

Honestly not a fan of the "take a keep" one either, but I think the "defend something" is even worse right now, because of the recent change. It isn’t to hard to hold a tower for some minutes to get the defensive event, but if you can’t find a tower under attack in the first place.

And yes, I completely miss-understood that Veteran Creature killer one to, still not to hard to chase down one of those, but it seems weird since almost every single guard on the map is a Veteran creature, but doesn’t count.

90% of the veteran PVE mobs (like the wolf near umber glade) don’t count for the achievemt either.

Let’s hope they don’t add the grub.

You know it’s coming. I just hope I’m playing blue the day that happens.

We’ll call it the “Collecting PvE Tears” Achievement!
