No, not “spike the punch” party suggestion…

Multiple party suggestion:

Still keep 5man parties, but enable multiple parties to combine. You will see your 4 party member’s ugly mugs on your screen and then have another similar icon showing party 2, party 3, party 4 (think 4 parties is enough). (You won’t have 20 ugly mug shots on your screen – only your 4 party members’ and 3 other icons of the other 3 parties.)
All parties would read the same party chat.
Dots on map can even be color coded for each “merged” party. Say, neon pink, shocking purple, shutter yellow.

Why?
So that you can see more than 4 other blue dots roaming around on map – guilds can form multiple parties and know their locations on maps rather than to ask “where are you guys?”… “gtg brb”…. “so where are you guys now?”… “kids… brb” … “back again, where are you guys?”

By the way, you can use ‘simple’ party list (in the options) to hide portraits, and display their names instead.

Apparently names are over rated in the “advanced” party list, because you know, knowing who has what buffs/debuffs or is being attacked isn’t important, right? /end rant

While we’re on the topic of allowing parties to party, which I think is a good idea, guilds need a mention here.

We need an “Alliance” feature like in GW1. Allow guilds to form Alliances with one another, and provide them with an Alliance chat.

ALL IS VAIN.
PvP modes are the “endgame” in every MMO.
Stop failing at PvE, start fixing PvP/WvW. Thank you.

For that reason my UI feels even more cluttered… otherwise I would use the simple option

Agreed, but the chat has to be in phosphor brown.
