People disappearing in a instant when downed.

1hr Debuff not allowing return into WvW for forced disconnect
Have you ever seen anything fixed in WvW? ALT-F4 is here to stay.
You should be doing Halloween stuff anyway, go farm some candy corn. That’s fun. Why would you kill other players when you can swing your cool mining picks on static piles of candy corn, which always give badges.. i mean, candy. What you can do then with it is buy some cool mummy or zombie tonics. It’s really fun. It turns you into ugly two-legged creature, who wouldn’t want that. Then, you can also visit various areas and carve pumpkins. I really recommend this, the only thing that’s more fun in todays online entertainment is fighting Tequatl the Sunless. It’s just amazing how much adrenaline one gets from using a ranged weapon and clicking “1” on a skillbar. And then there’s a cliffhanger.. for a moment, you don’t know who will win, the zerg or Tequatl. There should be betting ingame where we could bet on the outcome.
Anyway, in WvW you’re just killing some invisible people, and even if you kill them with ethereal weapons they use ALT-F4 magic to disappear. And people cheat; without buying Witch’s costume they fly around nevertheless with orbs n stuff, it’s just not fair towards paying customers who have to buy Witch’s costume to fly. But most of the time it’s just like fighting Tequatl the Sunless – except much less profitable.
I’m pretty sure they just Alt-F4 out of the game. If it so then it has to stop. Just today it happen like 10+ times.
It’s all about armor repair costs, that’s why people are doing it.
Other games have suffered from this cowardly use of ALT-F4. Not sure if Anet can determine if it’s a forced disconnect or loss of internet. You should not be penalized for a failed connection.
But you should be penealized with a 50% increase in armor repair cost for being a kitten.

In every game, offline or online, you are penalized for failed connection. And for a good reason. This is the only game I know, ever, that rewards disconnects (you don’t pay repair cost and you deny your opponent a reward).
Actually if you’re downed and Alt-F4 the next time you log in you’ll be dead and will thus be forced to pay to rez at a waypoint (assuming you don’t wait around for someone to rez you). So there is still a potential cost associated.
Also, Alt-F4 is a Windows function to ensure people can always get out of an application should an error occur, thus nothing can be done about this. While other games have included penalties/timers before being able to log back in, it also affects those who legitimately get booted or crash. Considering the number of times I’ve seen my entire server get kicked from WvW due to a problem on Anet’s side, I’m pretty sure that added nuisance would not have had a favorable response.
I’m really surprised they allow this actually. They pulled so much from DAOC in the design of WvW, but the one thing they missed was the timer for quitting.
In DAOC you had to type /quit to exit the game, and there was a 20 second timer before the game would actually exit, which reset if you were attacked or entered combat.
Exiting the game in WvW should be out of combat only, just like using waypoints (which should also have a 20sec timer imo).

To add, if you find it’s happening more often now, it probably speaks more to the lack of fun people are having in the game than anything else. If you do it and you have a queue to log back in, you’re just screwing yourself.
Actually if you’re downed and Alt-F4 the next time you log in you’ll be dead and will thus be forced to pay to rez at a waypoint (assuming you don’t wait around for someone to rez you). So there is still a potential cost associated.
That’s how newbies do it. Pro’s do it like this:
You enter WvW from Lion’s Arch which means that in the event of ALT-F4 you end up lying on the floor of Lion’s Arch. You can then:
1. Get rezed almost instantly by a horde of players in LA (you should be near Trading Post).
2. Get rezed instantly (literary) if you select the nearest waypoint, at zero repair cost / zero waypoint cost.
Enjoy.
Man, that’s really sad ianervan…just sad.
If you have no penalty to armor repair you can do anything with no risk/reward. You never risk anything.

Yes I agree, it’s on a huge WvW Sadness list which goes like this:
1. Invisibility
2. Downed State
3. Hacks
4. Nightcapping and Outmanned “buff”.
5. ALT-F4
6. Numerous minor issues.
Here’s my opinion of it for what it’s worth (not much but indulge me lol). Those who would use such a method obviously can never admit to losing anything at all. If they have to resort to this so they feel better about never dying in a competitive environment…it’s just sad. They are quitters, which is far worse than losers. Some will lose, some will win and you can’t win all the time. They feel they’ve won if they Alt-F4. That’s not winning, that’s quitting. The other person still won, so what’s the point. You certainly don’t earn respect by doing so. At least those losing earn respect for trying and coming back to try again.
I can’t say I blame people on the super-losing servers (300k points behind with the main server holding all 3 orbs) for doing this.
It’s not really fun fighting a zerg that not only has more people than you, but also has ridiculous bonuses to all their stats such that each of their one players is equal to two of yours.
Can’t really blame people for minimizing how unfun WvW is in light of the orbs unbalancing every single match.
Alt-F4 has always been viable and existed, but people who are having fun in a match wouldn’t even consider it. What appears to be an increase in this happening (anecdotal evidence) probably has more to do with people just being bored now with uneven matches and they should just move on to something else rather than play WvW. It’s seriously more work than it’s worth to save a couple silver or to stop a couple people from potentially getting a loot bag, so I have a hard time believing they’re doing it for any other reason than “eh, I’m not having fun anyway, let me screw with someone.”

This really never happens in a zerg that i have seen but more in 1v1 2v2 etc. Also the server was in the lead when this happen today.

Sure, I’m not saying different. Just saying that I don’t blame those people on servers in ridiculously unbalanced matches due to the orbs for doing it :P
Just have the character stay in game for 60 seconds if not logged out properly via game function. Easy. Problem solved.

Downed state 2? o-k can I hear some explanation on that?
