Its an insta win on my condi necro. Let the engi stack how much he wants, mark 3+4 combofield +condi transfer. Signet of spite and a little fear to finish him. Good engis sometimes escapes. Baddies explode.

Every roaming engi with a shield uses the runes, if you cant win why fight? Im not even going to try on my other chars.

as an ex glamour mesmer i gotta say that these runes are too powerful. our glam was never able to stack this fast, this high and this long lasting. we needed 8-10 mesmers to get up to a lot of confusion dmg like that.
the problem is that it gives 5 stacks for 15 sec per interrupts. when i was glam i would sometimes see 25 stacks ticking, but they never lasted longer than 1-3 seconds

I didn’t know interrupts were immune to dodging.

so out of your 7 interrupts i dodge 2 of them=5 left=25 stacks
by the time my dodge is ready again u have 2 mre interrupts. so yeah dodging all that is sooo easy. even if i manage to evade a few stacks, your class was able to stack confusion even without those runes..

On my necromancer I usually have no problems to counter those engies. But this only due to being a condition necromancer (since ever), and having one condition cleanse and 2 condition transfers on a farely nice CD. Any engy will be “blessed” with his own conditions facing me.

On my mesmer however I sometimes manage to give them their confusion back, but usually I keep my distance. Either I am lucky and blow that guy up in seconds, or I have to run and try to reset the fight. That sometimes works, if the engy is not that good, but a good engy will still confuse me appart.

Simply adding an internal CD would be a good start. Then one should bring the runes in line with all the other runes. Meaning the 6/6 effect should be just one, not two. Why is it that tourment and confusion runes need two effects on 6/6 while no other rune (I can think of now) has that. So make the 6/6 effect add 5-7 second confsuion on interrupt with an internal cooldown of 15-20 seconds and get rid of the +15% confsion time. Alternativle don’t put an internal CD but make the confusion time 2-3 seconds (that time will be increased by food buff and traits).

the duration in 6/6 is too long that is true. i’d vote for 3 as increasing confusion dmg and not triggering 5 stacks per interrupt, would be good as it strengthens existing builds. so engis can still use them as they already are a confusion class next to mesmers.

Bumping for visibility. These runes are ridiculous. I can equip these runes on my warrior or interrupt thief and faceroll over people. The 6/6 bonus needs an ICD and a lower duration. The 4/6 bonus also needs a lower duration, or it should do something else like increase confusion damage.

If that’s not obvious enough. Every single cap point there’s one engineer/thief stacking 25 confusion. Beyond that broken +150 stats (some particular guild builds are starting to become unkillable), this particular playstyle takes the 2nd most irritating kitten from anet.

Those rune need to be nerfed or all the other one need to be buffed. The issue is that for some class it open some interesting and fun build but for other like engi or mesmer it become way too OP.

Except that unbalanced matches are the norm, not the exception. So in fact what’s happening in those is a better reflection of the game as a whole.

Again, the problems suffered by those matchups are a function of population/participation. Does the orb bonus impact those matches negatively? I’m sure it does. But it doesn’t mean that the buff itself is actually broken, which most people here seem to be taking as an article of faith.

You want to do something about bloodlust on an imbalanced matchup? This strikes me as an infinitely better idea than constantly whining WAAA ITS BROKEN on the forums. Not saying you’re doing that, but it’s hard to ignore that it has been the trend here lately. There has been a whole lot of complaining and very few actual ideas.

Not only that, but I remember A-Net mentioning something about a diminishing returns system where an additional 100 to a stat really doesn’t help that much after a certain point. I don’t know if that’s true, however.

Yes, it’s a slot skill. I actually have a banner warrior, I know how it works. My point is that having 50-150 added to your stats is not broken, in fact it is something that many players have experienced many times without even knowing it.

Moreover, the stat discrepancy between a fully geared character with NO orbs, and an uplevel or an ungeared 80 is potentially much larger than 150. I don’t see anyone arguing that we ought to remove uplevels from wvw, or have gear requirements for WvW entry.

Perplexity runes need an ICD on the 6/6 bonus, and the condi duration needs to be decreased. It doesn’t matter whether or not my opponents bring condi removal because I can stack confusion on them faster than they can remove. As long as they’re attacking me (even autoattacks), there’s something for me to interrupt and drop another stack of long-lasting confusion. Heck, they stack confusion even when they attack me, due to the 4/6 bonus. What the runeset actually does is boost my survivability by a ton, because my opponent needs to slow his attacks down a lot to avoid having one of his skills interrupted.

It’s easy to think you’re outplaying your opponent because you’re interrupting his skills, but the fact of the matter is that interrupting is stupidly easy to do, since even autoattacks can be interrupted.

Granted, I’ve been in T2 and T1 for most of my time in Guild Wars, but it has been my observation that the lower tiers have been imbalanced for about a year now. The buff is not the main problem with those matchups. I can see how it might make things worse, but again, that doesn’t mean that the stat buff itself is broken. In general I think people are making too much of it.

Perplexity runes have been a plague on the game since they were introduced. Why they were even added to the game, let alone without any testing, is beyond me.

There are HEAPS of rune sets that ABSOLUTELY SUCK. But they keep bringing out new runes and sigils? Fix the old ones first instead of making overpowered trash like perplexity.

Err, those are abilities that take up slots…. but besides that, it’s not that +150 to stats makes people overpowered, it’s that WvW already suffers from stat power creep from PvE, and this just adds to it, then will get even worse with ascended armor, it’ll get to the point where the balance is absolutely out of whack or the entire way fights are handled changes in a negative way.

Perplexity Runes just need a huge duration nerf, or a ICD, but I think a duration nerf would be better.

5 stacks of confusion is one thing…. 5 stacks of confusion with 10 SECOND BASE DURATION is ludicrous lmao.

Should be 3s base like mesmer confusion abilities.

the duration of 6/6 is too much that is right. 5 stack for15 seconds per interrupt….. no glam mesmer was ever able to stack something lieke that ever. ourkitten grandmaster traits for confusion last 5 sec…the rest about the rune is ok, butt 6/6 is what is giving u 25 stacks from an engi.
