It might have been me. I remember doing that a couple months ago to Mendon’s Gap. We weren’t doing well on the map, so it thought it would be fun to go up there and see if i could grab the attention of the server by bangin on the gate. I remember yelling in chat that was going to take it all by myself! I was able to find a place to stand where the guard’s wouldn’t notice me, and i used wardens to hit the gate. I remember a necro finding me, me stealthing away, and watching him sit there for a few minutes trying to figure out what was going on. I got the gate to about 5-10% before more gandarans came. I was there for a very long time attacking that gate! Atleast a half hour. Pretty sure once the gate was down I wouldn’t have been able to take the keep by myself. Camps are one thing, Towers….whole new ball game!

RG is a zergball? TUP is a night capping guild? and the rest of piken guilds are culling abusers? The buttt-hhurtness in this thread is strong.

@Soggyfrog – Im fairly certain hes talking about Longview in “YOUR” own BL last night. I logged by 4-5am a few nutters carried on after that.

@Caid – Different approach (regarding reset), neither is stronger or weaker as the entire week is what the score is based on. Piken adopt a strong reset due to having needed too – not so much that, but the fact that 9/10 times against most servers (yours dissappointed me personally – in the sense that its a main WvW night, against other servers we fight hordes of 50-100 guys, so it was a bit of a downer, craved action ya see). But usually every server we’ve come across has had much more than us and hit us hard. First time ever a queue on more than one map for reset, was shocking lol. We are used to having to move across all four maps to assist (something I actually liked and miss). So everyone was “up” for a fight, was one of my most boring nights of WvW resets.

On behalf of TUP I hope to have many more fights this week, as its what we love. Tiers don’t matter to me personally and thus my guild – we simply seek out battles. We do our fairshare for the realm ofc for points, end of the day though its about fun. We seek glorious combat win or lose.

Put the trolls out of work, let bygones be bygones. Focus on the fun, don’t be too concerned with scores and baiting each other. Lets just have some epic battles, something to enjoy on our respective comms with our comrades.

Caid that explains alot, but if thats gandara’s way then surely there should be alot less qq over server reset… as its not your strongest time and its out the way now. Both ways are viable, some servers slack off at end of week, some others push harder… by pushing hard at start usually makes you more likely to be targeted by both, its what we always done pre elona match up.

Nope.. It was a ranger who hid after we broke in previously and the server had fully repaired it xD Attacked it from the inside. They never noticed until we were about to break in properly :P

I do feel guilty sometimes when my guild raid runs over one guy who has built siege by himself and is trying to solo cap something… always a worthy salute for that crazy dedication as its boring as hell and takes awhile.

Don’t worry, sure Krato got a memorial video clip of every guy attempting a solo cap we’ve come across, so their attempt is immortalised in film. (These select Gandarans I think have every right to say that they “got zerged”)

We used to be better on reset and slack off later in the week but after losing a couple of matches to fort ranik in the last day or two things changed.
Its probably better to concentrate more on the reset, if you end up far behind then people just give up or if you take a significant lead over the 2 servers then they just start concentrating on each other aiming for 2nd place. Depends who you’re up against i guess.
Wasn’t on last night but judging purely by scores it was probably a bit kitten to be a gandaran or augury player. Some people dont need much excuse to be moany anyway

People shouldn’t take being called a zerg so personally btw, to half of gandara it basically means more than 5 players. Its not really a comment on how your using the numbers

So inspiring to see what Gandara can pull together to achieve, after you give them a good kick up the backside! After such a low amount of progress In GBL, only capping a Tower and getting wiped every other minute by VII and BOON, as I understand it, it truly made my day to see all of the Randoms pull together and fight as a group – achieving capping and holding Garrison (which was an awesome battle btw) and the Northern Towers, wiping both of the aforementioned Guilds repeatedly

I know I’ll probably get the ‘you guys had like a bajillion players, or at least 50’ excuse, so will address it now – It’s true! At one point we had 60 players, took ages to count them all, and they wouldn’t stop moving, but yeah. It wasn’t so much having 60 players, it was the fact that they were actually working together effectively as a group, and actually putting in the effort to communicate and listen to orders, not to the same amount of efficiency as you guys, but with more players comes less need for organisation, though we definitely had some in there

I’d like to send my regards to my fellow Commander Hedvig, for also leading and having and awesome laugh, and every single Random who participated at that point – moments like these, that we all come together to achieve something, make me truly proud to be a Gandaran.

Thanks for the fights VII, BOON was very much enjoyed, and we took pride in actually winning for the first time in what seems like decades, until you guys called siN to save you… (yes I know that that’s probably very far from the truth, but it makes us feel better about ourselves to think it xD and also the last thing we need is more demoralisation right now, as a Server – again, thanks for tonight guys, great fun, hopefully you can see I’m joking about some of this, please don’t kill me!)

Respect to that French guild Gnou, you guys are a decent opposition, your melee train hits like a truck and your guardians know how to play their class in the battlefield, unlike the duby blobs. I can see you guys will excel in small scale. Salute!

Was very good fights and who cares what numbers there was, I had fun. Was pretty hectic at times with constant running between stuff getting hit by you forces. Hope this will continue for the rest of the week regardless of the scoreboard.

Amazing battles this evening! …..

It was indeed, Astralhome was the highlight when you turned up, it was ok wipe these guys, oh and the others coming, and those ah crap where the kitten they all come from? :P

But if you think that night was crazy…. we also had AR to deal with down south who we also tried to pin in all night they got going a raid not much smaller who kept golem rushing Hills and trying to catapult Greenbriar too.

Tonight was a good example of if every server turns up and makes a strong conserted effort its impossible for one server to dominate when its wooden keeps and towers you simply can’t cover the map vs 40, 50 man raids.

Was a good night both BOON and VII played past their normal bedtimes it was that much fun sIN turning up at the end was a bonus for sure, \o/

Awesome defend at Augury Rock Garrison by siN. We was 9 players defending it against 25-30 Augury Rock. In the end they had 2 gates down, we had no wall left and they had siege at the lord. Would love to see a video of it

Swiss is interesting………. Not playing much atm as my PC is about to die but new parts ordered so yay!

Last fight I had with PX was on victors/heroes whatever and you had some old men guild with you or something? Was a good fight at first but too many turned up for us, boooooooo. I contented myself with running around the BO in circles (yes, BO = Battle Objective for non-WARers!).

Okay obviously you guys didn’t like my entire Gandara pulling together to form a resistance idea; [TUP], [VII], [DT], [SU], [siN], [HoB]… overkill much? xD Think all we were missing was Red Guard and Boon Control… (not sure about GG, they had a fair amount of people, but not sure was just random or not)

At any rate, again good fighting today everyone, my particular hours were 4:00pm GMT till about 8:00pmGMT – it was incredibly painful, you guys know how to coordinate to each other, that’s for sure! So many Guilds, my repair bill and downed penalty was quite high after and during those fights respectively.

I think we held our own pretty well though, didn’t lose anything at least although on the offensive we didn’t get as far, mostly due to what I am convinced of atm, you guys were EVERYWHERE! Especially good was the fight at Bay Inner, I enjoy trying to organise groups of Randoms, in order to get something done, and I’ll say that I am incredibly proud of the fighting spirit and battle prowess of the Eze-dubbed ‘Uber-Blob’. Moreover I think we fought and wiped many of your guilds at different times, most notably [siN] twice, which I am incredibly pleased with – you guys roll around like one of those kill balls from Halo, insta-death basically, can’t count the amount of times I was shouting down the line at my fellow Gandarans to stay the hell away from you guys!

Hoping for more fights tomorrow, although it’s likely [WvW] won’t be rolling out until later in the evening, curse you weekdays!

There are a few different guilds on Piken that have the tag GG ^^ only we run full size raids of 20-25 people though. You might have seen a few people that were there waiting to get into AR BL, or some other guild with GG tag. We mostly spent the times you were online in AR BL sadly not much was happening there, and we didn’t face much resistance in capping the entire map heard all the fun was happening in Gand BL, so we moved over there around 22:00, wiped a mass blob of NOM + LdF + NA + friendlies from the frenchies a few times with TUP and HoB, they logged, went looking for some Gandarians, but didn’t encounter groups above 20, guess we were too late

I get really jealous when I think how much fun that must be. I imagine it’s quite intense but fun none the less.

Its random, EB and PS gets ques fast so the guilds all go for Gandara and AR BLs so they can get their raids in, RG, BOON, GG and AFTL and a few others were all on AR BL and seeing what we all did to that map tonight they didn’t get it easy either.

Talking about hitting maps hard, Piken got it hard on their own map tonight too! Some absolutely EPIC fights tonight. I’m glad we, Gandara, managed to finally get that hills keep and even some of your north towers/ We tried to hide inside Bay and nab it before AR could get it but they couldn’t keep the wall down long enough :P Anyway again thanks for the awesome fights

Heheh you wouldn’t have come across us as a Guild Warband, well it’s unlikely – for the past 6-7 days we’ve been running like that and roaming around, we can take on and win against a fair amount of Pikey Guilds, but never against the higher ups like VII, RG, siN etc. recently in this match up the most notable thing we’ve achieved as a guild was whisking the Randoms up into a frenzy yesterday and today and increasing their organisation to our level, which although quite low compared to all of you full spec’d and nourishment wielding guys, makes a decent impact between 50 players or so ;D

Other than that last Friday we ninja’d AR Garrison despite having 20+ people, and then taking Hills, far less subtlety, but it was still a thrilling to see the map painted Blue :) also the adrenaline rush of hoping they don’t see you ninja-ing with that many people, when you are at Inner… It’s relatively intense, although not as much as today and yesterday :)

Thought we did quite some good things today, even tho most big Piken guilds were on different borderlands. We had a lot of fun battles going on and even took some T3 stuff.

Gandara has a lack of serious organised guilds tho and even during primetime, we are noticing it now. That said, we seem to do just as well as Augury. This makes me believe that we can be a T4 server. Sure, we get dropped to T5 (T6 maybe…) because Piken is going full steam ahead to T3 (T2 after?) now but we will manage to get back in T4.

Immolator, The GG you saw during that time, wasnt good game (GG) was ghosts and goblins(GG)

TUP was present, but only running like 10-12 of us for awhile to begin with… so we had to pick our fights a bit more carefully and work with our allies alot more than usual… So VII was generally in similar area to us holding bay… while others were off roaming more freely, like SU, DT, HOB, sIN… most of us had issues with ques for GD BL Eventually as night went on we got up to aprox 18 TUP and now down to just me in your bl all alone chilling.

All i have to say is kitten you brought the fight to us… it did feel like the whole zone of gandara at bay inner… and that was a very close fight could of gone either way… you even got the door down and pushed in at one point while some people were respawning and running back… I think you had to deal with Some TUP VII and sIN (amongst others) like i said that was a close fight and turning point probally of the night as if you took it would of set us back and spured you guys on even more. But thankfully we repelled you just after many attempts. It was nice to see you guys fighting back.

Plenty of good fights in the north west area during that time from my point of view, outside bay. I Know nom and ldf eventually showed up, with NA and other french and stretched us even more… which HOB and others did a good job scrapping with and delaying.

We grew in number, then i wasnt only raid leader, had some nice fights with gandarans up north around the nw tower and n supply. Also had some fun fights with Ldf, Nom, then NA & pugs… then them all together So it swapped between Gandara having the big threat to AR for awhile, but eventually they logged as we took lake and soon after hills. Played a hour and half this time with sound bug because of the que’s couldnt relog.

Then it was back to Gandara Vs Piken again… hob logged, RG showed up, GG showed up for awhile before this, Tup took NE T3 tower with relative ease compared to normal, thankfully caught it off guard and blitzed. Then Garrison… you sure made us work for that… RG & TUP smacking your garrison multiple times from multiple ways… destroying your siege, having to regroup and reattack but Finally overwhelmed your valiant defense. Rg logged/swap zone.

Then it was the nw tower left to get… you guys obviously didnt read the script… its suppose to fall like domino’s… you take the one tower then they all fall down… but in fact ne (the first) was easiest… then garrison was difficult, and the nw tower was even more difficult…

Tried trebbing the nw tower… tried catapulting… Multiple times from multiple directions, hitting multiple walls… got it down to 0 supply, 40% fortied wall… but our 8 TUP vs 20-30 didnt over commit to it… you killed our trebs then we had some very nice fights at the north east tower, outside it then inside you caught half of us messing around when we pushed your superior numbers cuz we are like that haha (plenty of yak + others) was on the back foot defended with what we had left… lost ne tower

Then Gandara Assaulted Garrison ne outer… took it down… we had little supply there but had built some AC’s to cover both gates (just incase) you chose middle door, we fried your Ram’s… we was down to 7or 8 guys at that time… We got ready to push out, as our backup from sIN arrived (about 10 of them) and we pushed you out of garrison sIN covered the gate, while we run supply… sIN went back to what they was doing, we retook the ne tower with what was left of us vs 15-20 Gandarans.

Then we finally took t3 nw tower, by clearing all your siege again and good old fashioned rams on reinforced gate, by that time wasnt many of us, and not many defenders either.

So cheers for plenty of great fights on GD bl…

and Gandara you could be a T3 Server… your definately a T4 server… because blacktide will free fall… so that bumps you up a spot, Barach Bay might Fall… Augury rock and you guys it just depends who wants it more, and if you fight without piken around then will depend on the other third server’s influence a bit too. Piken is a T3 Server, maybe even T2, we are similar to kodash/riverside when we last met. Main issue for you guys if/when you get to T3 is if you have to deal with a big T2 server that drops down. (like when we got elona on holiday which was a double whammy for piken) fun action but zero chance on score.

I’d like to know any new Tags you see personally on piken, as im keeping a eye out too as we dont want or need any more people when we have Full Que’s… people who join us now are >insert word here< and should go to a server that needs them, there’s plenty to pick from that actually want and would welcome them fully to their WvW community.

Don’t even think Balkan Guild came to piken as there is mention of them on Ruins of Surmia.

Just to clarify, siN is a Spanish based guild. Yes we do play at intempestive hours, but then again thats something cultural. 99% of us are from Spain or living in Spain.

Honestly I’d rather they just did something about these “tourists”. I’m from Piken (started there and no plans to move) and I wish we didn’t get so many of the above-mentioned every kitten week and would much rather remain on a stable tier where more fighting happens and less steam-rolling.

The Hills battle was good fun. You got pretty unlucky on the first battle in the lord room since for some reason, the waypoint was uncontested, so after you wiped us inside, we could just respawn at the entrance of the room…

Not that it delayed you for too long mind. couldn’t do much to stop you on the second go.

Indeed. Can’t happen soon enough.

I’d rather see it happen before they put a price on server transfers since I’d rather be on a poulated server, instead of a deserted one. Or at least the above-mentioned occurs early on so the server has time to recuperate.

And PIKEN, you do know that in the next tier or the following ones, eventually we’ll run into someone who can put up a good fight and we’ll be held back, or worse, beaten, then the tourists will move on and we’ll have an epic fall back into the lower tiers.

This is what I’m hoping for, please let this happen before they add paid server transfers!

Tbh id be more worried about going down tiers than moving up, the lower tiers have taken the brunt of transfers lately as it has become now all the rage to join lower tiers than Tier 1-2 so expect them to come bum rushing tiers in a few weeks time.

Can’t blame them though we all make so much hype about our tiers having awesome guilds and brilliant fights and this is the place to have more fun than the highly frustrating and sleepless nights they experienced in Tier 1-2, basically in a nutshell we have been unofficially advertising ourselves and now we are reaping what we sow.

When paid transfers come it will no longer be which server has the most skill but who can retain the most population and coverage as there will no longer be the means to replace lost players and guilds, when things go sour, then many will be crying for Anet to merge servers etc.

Alot of blacktide guilds went to Vabbi or ROS not PS (only 2 that i know of and RG was originally piken, and the balkan Guild)

Don’t even think Balkan Guild came to piken as there is mention of them on Ruins of Surmia.
