Yeah, it was pretty lame golem train. In a blowout match such as this all those do is put the people on the receiving end to log out and makes the whole map a snoozefest.

Well from a [Dius] point of view, it was a night well spent! We had 21 people at our peak and had some awesome fights deflecting DT + SFRJ off of our spawn tower, only to be attacked by pesky french. Busting through hills south outer and wreaking havoc to the point that both SFRJ and DT had to come kick us out

Shame about our golem rush.. that went badly :P

Oh and good attempt trying to stop us taking Cragtop… But we like that tower!

One of the [RG] players informed us that the map sweep on Reset, by Piken, was to ‘teach us a lesson’. So the golem train was to prove a point that they had enough organization to build an army of golems without supply camps and came prepared.

I was hoping that PS would give us (the other two servers) a break and leave our Keep, in EBG, standing. We never got our Keep to T3 today, AR lost theirs during a sweep of their land prime-time, and Gandara lost their Keep earlier than we did yesterday.

At this point, PS is just beating the dead bodies that are the servers of Gandara and Augury Rock.

This has definitely been a low point for me, in regards to WvW, this round. Had a few fun battles, but I’ll be glad to be done with this week.

If Piken is truly showing their strength, I hope the upcoming WvW changes doesn’t lock you in with too many bandwagoners and ruin your chances for a fair fight in the upper tiers, after next week, by not being able to get enough organized groups (guilds) on at the right times.

So yes the score is pretty grim reading, but the score stopped mattering after the weekend.

Thanks for CM for sticking with us in the Gandara Borderlands tonight, considering our numbers we made a decent fist of it.

I think the reason most Gandarans are a bit burnt out is that we are a very PuG heavy server, and this matchup has become all about the organised guilds which we have very few.

I have a lot of man love for any brave Gandaran soul in EB tonight. Chin up as we Brits say!

Dont worry too much about RG and Saccy tbh. We wont see them for a while, and think about it this way; If they need to “give Gandara a lesson”, what does that say about them :-) Gandara as a server will miss the fights against some of the Piken guilds. I know I will, thats why we moved to Gandara after all, because there are a whole bunch of skilled guilds at Piken, and good fights to be had. To those guilds I salute and may the battlegrounds never be full for you :-)

We are a small fish here (PVX guild) betwen Sharks: stricte WWW guilds:VII, Hob, TUP,TNTD, HOB, GG, Exe, PX, BOON,RG, sIN etc.. . But they accepted our play style, They are very helpfull and I like Piken’s community. I meet plenty of very good gandarians and I hope we will meet soon again o/

We capped through whole AR side, all fully upgraded towers and overlook outside one. Epic 30 min+ AR overlook siege, had good amount of help there from PX (pax or px?), long struggle to survive all the mass siege, supply and full zone inside.
And following that to take whole gandara side.

We as the only commander and organised guild on the zone, never peaking above 25 people, last caps with under 15 people, PX left soon after first AR overlook cap and our gandara side Tag (and PX were only around 10 to begin with).
Gladly for the last hour we had a second commander tag (just tag, no full guild) for the north side to hold still the gandara side while we recapped the AR side.

And you have the brass to cry about using golems O.o?
About an attack that was scouted before any hits were done on the outer, with all the siege and cannons you have inside. Haters gonna hate rofl… Mayby if we ran through that jumping puzzle of yours naked lightnings shooting out our arses, riding unicorn donkeys playing mozart with a panflute. Mayby then you would be happy, even against golems.

Happy about you rising organisation tho, can’t stand unorganised kittens. That’s what it is all about. You could be the next Vizunah with everyone and their granny on same zone TS with spread coverage. Last week gandara had ques every zone most of the time so recources shouldnt be too big of a problem.

He was probably just trolling. Gandara after all was talking crap on there forum about how we built rams or something and wasted keep supply when infact we golem rushed all of EB on first night.

As for Siege yea its our favored past time… We can only use super ram and golems. Maybe its more to do with the only siege we can stand in getting it out of way. Also we use badges on them. So the stomping corpses comment is just more golems!.

Read my post, the one you copypasted and see what I said about fighting organized guilds (and well, I consider RG one of those obviously). WOuldnt it be the natural thing for a Gandarian to make the other on the server care less about forumfights eh? :-) Btw, were not Crimson, were cntk. I believe theres a couple of my mates there in Rg no? :-) It was good fun having you on Gandara, and it also was good fun fighting you lot, altough on uneven terms. But, for auld long syne, dont drag Crimson into this. We had good fun together back in WAR, and theres no need to get emo either way Sac. I know what you lot are doing, I see how you work, pace and movements as always, and I appreciate it. First day at Gandara I tagged along with you on my Guardian, and immediately pickled up a few good moves, thanks for that. I know you want your lot to get to the top, focusing on that. I wish you best of luck, and I am fairly confident youll make it as well, seeing the effort your server puts up. I am not gonna be part of any thing between you and anyone on Gandara feeling bad about being rushed by you, that would be kinda hypocritical considering how we used to roam ourself, and I dont feel bad for them either. After all, its about grouping up and play the game, even for the pugs (which Ive had the pleasure to see has been happening quite well recently at Gandara).

Those rams did nothing for your siege limit unless you yourselves were planning to put more rams inside your own keep on that same spot.

Well all i can say is we couldnt place any Ac’s down on the wall in that area, nothing more to add, coz if you actually read the rest of it, like i said, the bad kitty helped later. Im not the one causing bad feelings, im just responding to being called a troll about what I saw and what happened when someone tried to place ac’s.
Also on that post on community forums it went… yep must be a gandaran thing (meaning the 1st night), 2nd night i took the SS to prove even we didnt do it, nothing in thread was even hostile.

I was just pointing out that the RG guy building a couple of rams probably had little to no effect on you guys not being able to put arrow carts down, unless you were trying to build them directly on top. Wasn’t accusing anyone of being hostile.

Cheers for the fights tonight in Gandara Borderland, as usual it ebbed and flowed… Great teamwork, alot of resilence from oppostion etc

Best fight of the night for me was North East Tower… TUP getting inside as you capped it, then fighting you guys for 5-10 minutes inside then capping it and fighting you some more.

Plenty of other decent fights, mostly vs LDF, Yak Etc (too many to name)

Epic moment of the night… was probally 30+ GD at Gandara Garrison… inner door was on 1%… I lit a beacon and sIN arrived on Gandara borderland, we had 5 or 6 TUP… then the race was on… stalled you a bit on the (inner west gate ramp) you guys portalled in behind us, we pulled back… few of our people downed, somehow survived… fell back, you pulled lord up and killed it… Meanwhile the sIN Pain Train was still a minute thirty out… We took it in turns to stall you capping the lord room, i lasted a respectable 10+ seconds Dranul failed < The vook did well, Strange did great almost brought it home…

We thought everyone was dead after strange and was maybe 20-30 seconds too short… But the one TUP member not on TS had ninja rez’d the lord and then stalled some himself… Then BHAM the pain train hit Bang on Time(very reliable Train) (2nd best fight maybe ive seen from watching on floor) Gandarans got wiped, the keep got repped… we then took the towers back.

Had good fun in Gandara BL tonight. Fights back and forth and everywhere. I’m looking forward to when culling gets “fixed” however, so one of these days we won’t find ourselves getting run over by enormous amounts that continue to render endlessly, or feeling like an own victory of ours was cheap due to the enemy likely not even seeing us. Doh.

There were lots of great attacks and defences at the keeps, Gandara defended their Garrison with everything they had and AR held onto Hills for a long time despite our endless onslaught.

Great co-ordination between our guilds as always, the attacks on Hills, Garrison, and our defence of Bay were fantastic. For people who tend to blob their forces up into large masses of 70+, really, don’t do it. It’s so much more effective to have several 20-mans at different points.

I want to give a special mention to a poor Gandaran Norn warrior, I believe he was. I think he was on the run from Balkan Legacy, cutting under the little “bridge” of Briar, unfortunately right as GG was passing beneath there also. He and I ran into each other and stopped in our tracks like a slapstick comedy, I wasn’t going to hurt him but unfortunately the GG train was right behind me and went into attack mode instantly. We’re so sorry for trampling you! There was much laughter on TS and we felt awful that we’d so brutally (and accidentally) blocked your escape. Silly little highlight of the evening!

Lol you guys are taking it out of context. No one said anything about teach you a lesson no idea where it came from. I just found the ram thing funny as it was mistake drop for golem, then i think pryda did a few troll rams, that said we was not stupid enough to build them. Thats all on gandara.

As for Killi. I did not mean anything by bringing in crimson name i thought it was mostly ex crimson is why i said it. As for what i said we are on same page then when i ment bitter it seemed the way your other posts came across in terms of gandara being beat and piken rising but its maybe annoyed you wont fight piken guilds anymore i can understand that.

We were 15-20 on the public teamspeak, a bunch of Yak’s, a couple of Dius and some Smug members. All the rest were pugs.
We knew you guys were stalling. One by one you guys came in and it was obvious that there was something comming our way. We made several calls that there was going to be a massive group heading in, but we couldn’t get our troops organised in time. Then BAM all of a sudden a huge group rendered in xD. I managed to get away and we were planning on hiding with the mesmer but ofcourse some randoms came and stood on us while we were stealthed…

You forgot to mention that at the same time there was a GG group of 15+ pounding on the west inner gate. So we focussed on them and cleared them just before you guys brought the south gate down. Intense, but once you guys were standing in the lord room with a massive TUP and sIN (50+ surely) army we didn’t stood a chance.

You guys keep on comming back with more and more and more… Most of the time we manage to kill a guildgroup and all of a sudden you guys are teamed up with another guildgroup fighting side by side. If that’s not enough you got an other one. And you guys can brings loads of guilds to the fight atm. And as a last resort you have the RG hotline ofcourse, shock and awe.
That’s just why people get frustrated. On Gandara you kill one guild or rather a zerg and after that the map is yours for the taking

??? When was this? GG was called off by 23:20, I think Wam is talking about something that happened much later if siN were around. The combined effort on Garrison earlier in the evening included around 4-5 guilds. I can understand if it’s frustrating, but we always seek to work alongside one another.

Dangerdoom he is talking about the “DEFENCE” of Garrison at silly oclock. Not our assault, which btw took ages and was well defended.

The defence of your garrison, wam mentions, was much later, TUPs 6 guys were all that was left in zone. We held out and held out as wam posts, bringing in sIN to wipe the force inside. Was good fun.

To be fair, the assault was great communication from the guilds in zone. It was all you had left – so obviously you had your main focus there. We took it in turns to bust down several different doors as much as we could.

The assault was long and hard fought. But as that was all that was left in zone, the guild forces concentrated on it.

Too many good fights tbh, earlier in the night, I was sloppy and wiped when we shouldnt of, regardless of being outnumbered. I got my groove back and the guys had alot of fun and kills the rest of the night. The epic fighting in Hills when Yak tried to join in a 3 way, was really nice fights there for quite awhile.

I will ask – what the hell is that Yak fella doing on our server. At first I thought it was innocent, then he starts following the various commanders around, and wherever he goes – yak tries ambushing. Had several complaints from fellow commanders about his suspicious behaviour. Dubious to say the least.

Nice fights to the AR and Gand in Gandara BL tonight. Hoping for more before the week is out.

(Would posting on the Gandara server forums which you frequent not be more suitable and less flame bait? A PM?)

We have a very large guild (250) spread over several servers so there is a possibility this is an honest mistake. We have had a blast learning from the best over the last 2 days and I honestly don’t see what we would have to gain from knowing your movements. Our scouts need to improve a lot, many of our wipes were from poor communication ( e.g “TUP are coming up the stairs! Get ready!”….. “Which stairs? North? South?”….. WIPE) so if this were true we are just hindering our own progress. We want to be the best we can be.

If there were any foul play going on then yes absolutely we want to stomp that out. I apologise if it takes away from the pretty decent encounters we had. If 1% of the guild are making the other 99% look bad then they will get an absolute beat down. (I mean come on, which serious spy would leave their guild tag up and not expect to get caught?)

So yes less airing dirty laundry in public please, send me / Gandara forum a name or screenies. Reputation means a lot in these online community games and mud slinging just makes everyone involved smell of dirt.

I ran into 5 The White Souls [WS] guys yesterday and had some great 1on1’s with them before our evening roam started – many props to them.

Nice fights last evening at Piken Borderlands, prime time start slowly with just little skirmishes but rest of night was great, first Gandara supporting [Dius] place nice siege on Hills Keep was very difficult to push you back.

No rest for us as heavy numbers from AR start attacking Bay, that force us to call help from other Borderland, cheers to VII for come over and help hold ours Keep. I guess if that attacks will come same time we could lost one keep, bit lucky for us overall.

Thanks to all Piken Square players to keep stamina up and hold our Borderland, nice job.

Like to say that and previous match-ups was full of good fights, good luck for both servers and we looking forward to see you guys again.

We were going to go for round 2 on hills while you were all at Bay but we kept getting harassed by a french guild when we went to push. The result was that we went over o Bay, Wiped AR and then got wiped by you guys xD

Personally not pointing fingers, I even rezzed the guy twice last night, a few times earlier in the week too. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, that perhaps he’s just looking for map completion and due to the objectives being mostly green at some point or another was easier for him here. I stand by that, until proven otherwise, naive – maybe, but i’d like to think (as you said – no one is that stupid to leave tags on) that he’s innocent.

True, bad form of me to use here instead of your forum. My apologies – was late and alot of people had thought the worst of the situation and it needed highlighting. Figured was better me doing it, than some troll post, flaming spy this and spy that.

I just recommend in future, that if you have members, looking for world completion, to remove the tags, is all.

As for scouts – lol, made me chuckle. We’ve had a few new recruits over the past weeks/months and to hear “INCOMING!” without a number, or direction or info on guild(s) or zerg. In a less than calm tone, puts you on edge, only to find 2 enemies approaching the rear hehe.

Nah, seriously, fighting the more organized guilds on PK is what this game has to offer atm., and is why we would never join pk :-) (because then we cant fight them hehe). Then again, cntk is a small scale guild. On our wvw evenings, we have managed to pull out 3 full groups, but I see 4 groups minimum a number where invincibility becomes possible (if you negate all the negative effects one can not control like lag and culling). I believe I saw RG runninmg around with 4-5 groups (I may be wrong as well, but knowing your numbers I believe thats a fair number). Of the Piken guilds, I would no doubt rank RG as the major opponent on a wvw scale (very likely becauise I know the coordination it takes and the dedication from the members), followed by TuP I believe. sIN also hits like a truck, but they seem (a big seem there, I cant tell numbers exactly) to have bigger numbers.
As of now, zergbusting as we know it from WAR is very hard for smaller numbers not only due to the culling, which can be hardcoded, but mainly because of the Rally! thingy. Potentially if one in our group die, we get 10 extra enemies again risen from the dead without anyoen even ressing, which is a horrible idea, especially when you have to move so fast to avoid the slower aoe attacks from the zerg. If Anet would remove the Rally thingy id be happy :-)

Dangerdoom i was like as others have said, on about Gandara Bl Garrison Defense(from pikey pov) later on… not The assault which took place to take it when i think it was GG,TUP,TNTD maybe seven too at that time.

Assault was okay on garrison(vs yak/cm/pugs) but wasnt very epic… Assault on hills was alot better fighting LDF and all the rest.

As someone who likes to roam and rarely joins any zerg meetings, im wondering lately what the situation is currently on Piken Server. About 95% of the usual suspects have left EB, so many new faces now, feels like im playing on a diffrent server now.

Heard past few months, when we had lots of work to do against River, Kodash and Co… that we actually wanted to drop few tiers and have a more pleasant Wv3-Matchup… now it seems, we are going after the Tier 1 Crown or is this situation right now a temporary one ?

The pioneer Guilds still around, barely seen anyone (Boon, GG, TNTD among others)… time to hop server and drop few tiers before the 28th of january and/or is PS converting into the next Tier 1 wannbe-server?

The Wv3- atmo has changed past 2 weeks or so on Piken Square…

The Pioneer Guilds as you call them are still around…

Not the best place to talk about this stuff here… besides stating the obvious that Piken is full and doesnt want anymore… and wants all the recent bandwagoners to leave to the next bandwagon server or actually do the smart thing filter down the tiers to servers where you would be welcomed.

Anet need to get their kitten together… this WvW ranking and servers, rewards scrubs for xfering around getting free rides(even with paid xfers) while the communitys that have been built have to suffer the consequences of the easymoders disrupting communities or matchups… Its not just Piken who have been effected, Augury & Gandara have had to put up with one sided matchup, the servers in the tier above with blacktides collapse got a uneven match up (and the 3w will be mostly 2w for servers up against them) till they drop all the way down.

Piken might of won the last two matchup’s… but in the end might be the real loser because it performs well and scrubs flock to it again.

Scrub = someone choosing ques over going to a community that needs and wants you. There is plenty of server recruitment posts from other WvW communities yet they get overlooked… and if a few of the easymode guilds went there could easily make a impact and a difference, and create a better balanced sustainable ranking system.

Surely the devs can see the issues with the evolution (a server dropping over 100+) this far into the game when servers are supposed to be balanced out… some servers having no chance of promotion even if they win…

Should simplfy the rankings, win = promotion 2nd = same tier and third = relegation… otherwise you will create more issues long term… like this 4 week same match up as created… was the same last time when we fought gunnars hold and another server for two weeks. The rankings will become too stale, and alot of people will get bored of same oppostion eventually…

Just wondering who these easymode guilds on Piken are? If we knew their names, we could approach them in a mature and sensible manner explaining the situation, rather than antagonising and insulting them on a public forum.

I’ve been looking for all these ‘freeloaders’ that people keep talking about, but at the moment I am seeing a lot of organised WvW focused guilds and actually very few who bring nothing to the fight. Gather up some names and perhaps post them on the Piken forums so we can act as a community looking to protect itself.

Since I’m the one that said PS set out to teach a lesson on Reset, it might have been a bit harsh, and not really wanting to dredge it up, but I also did not want you to think that I was pulling quotes out of thin air:

So in that context, it did feel a bit like ‘teach a lesson’ as this was the first time we (AR and Gandara) saw what is said to be a typical server dynamic at Reset.

Not calling names or anything, just wanted to clear that up.

I’ll admit it’s a decent strategy and a nice way to get an early lead on points & upgrades and a psychological blow to other servers that very well could impact the way they play the rest of the week.

The Borderlands on Gandara server are significantly more filled when you are holding your own than when you are not.

And yes, that goes for every server, but even more so for you guys. That’s definitely the impression I’ve gotten from playing on and against your server for the last 2 weeks.

Just a shout out to Dius and Yak for their fantastic play and amazing fights over the week! We’ve been looking out for you a lot because you are so fun to fight and the battles can go either way. Also a mention to Ldf of AR for the constant action you’ve been giving us . I’ve seen both a vast increase in my badges and in my repair bills as a result! Keep up the good work, your guilds are going to bring your servers far.

Tonight was my favorite WvW night since launch.

Picture the scene: AR Borderlands……23:00 hours…..Our team of 6 Gandaran YaKs stealth capped RedBriar, Dawns and Woodhaven successfully giving the 20 strong Piken sIN the slip at every turn. Finally we were discovered at Woodhaven, when we were spotted by a couple of roaming Augury Rock! Disaster! Cross swords!

Brown trouser time! Urging the ram, knowing sIN would be breathing down our necks we break it down. Quick get that Lord down!

AR had been licking their lips from their vantage point on the hill. Oh how they swooped! But something was wrong… Piken! Cue particle effects in the distance. Lord nearly down…

First Augury came, 15 or so with different guild tags. We can take them. We CAN take them. The cap was going up, up, up. We’re not going to make it. Battle stations. Line of warding. Ring of warding. they break through.

15 Piken! God no! Wait… A glimmer of hope. It’s not sIN!

Mass invisibility goes up. Whoever popped that saved some good men that day. We hide around the corner. Bodies were flying all over the place. The first men start to fall. Wait for it.. Timing is everything….. Wait for it……

Gogogogo. Bring home the gold! The remaing few start to flee. Keep it up, keep it up! cap goes red! Wait, Green. Find that man, FIND THAT MAN!

Keep swinging! Pop that Stability and Stomp! It’s Red again! Don’t stop! Keep them off the cap, YESSSSSSSSSSSS!

The following hours were just as brutal until Woodhaven finally fell 02:00 hours.

You forgot to mention that at the same time there was a GG group of 15+ pounding on the west inner gate. So we focussed on them and cleared them just before you guys brought the south gate down. Intense, but once you guys were standing in the lord room with a massive TUP and sIN (50+ surely) army we didn’t stood a chance.

So, looks like our month long fight is drawing to a close today. Thank you to Gandara and Augury for all of the epic fights. Hope we meet again under more balanced circumstances, like the first 3 weeks in which the scores were so close.

Thanks to [LdF] and [NOM] and [WvW] for not giving up, even against overwhelming odds in the final few days. Some great fights from them.

Look forward to fighting Riverside, they were really fun to fight against last time, and our new opponent Baruch Bay.

I want to thank PS and AR for the great fights this week. “We had wipes we had fun, and we had gandarans on the run…” (some little song for ya’ll ;-)
PS you guys have a golden community and a lot of very good guilds. I hope you show it the comming weeks and I’ll be reading your next matchup-post for sure. You showed Gandara how it’s done and you guys will smash your way into tier 1 I’m sure.

I want to also thank you for brining our community closer together, that’s maybe one of the most important things for us that happend this week. I’m glad people showed their true fighting spirits even though it was mostly frustrating. Our core became stronger and I’m sure we’ll build something from that.

Good Luck in the next matchup. I see that you guys failed to not draw attention to your server just before the paid transfers are coming through. That must suck for you guys. I understand that you want to win as much as possible but maybe, it would have been smarter to calm down this week, from a tactical standpoint of course. Now you guys are getting lots of transfers from what i heard. I hope it won’t be too bad! And thanks again for all the nice fights.

Hi Augury Rock.I hope u had some nice time mixed with some spotman’s headache on Durios in Eb .I was really determined to hold it and the Pikeys fought good.Most of our ppl were camping Gandara’s keep as always so we were a little undermanned ,but we put up a good siege defence.You guys are really persistent i give you that,not many would have tried a 3rd full assault on the tower after all those tens of siege bps and catapults lost .Not to mention u guys probabily wiped your keep clean of supply too.Good fight.Cheers to the commander!
