They are worth a minimum number of points. Zero.
If they’re worth zero, they’re spending a lot of time dead as opposed to power leveling.
You get more WvW XP off them until they offer 0 than after they kill you, I imagine. Also you get way more loot bags and aren’t being repeatedly wiped. If you don’t think this is a win for you, I don’t know.
I assume that it is some sort of deterrent to keep players from camping outside spawn areas for easy kills/ rank farming.
I like the system, it seems to have reduced “spawn camping”. If you get tired of beating same player over and over and not getting enough reward for it, you could move on to some other player. Maybe?
It also makes it so people don’t make a deal with someone on the enemy server to keep killing them over and over to level up world ranks.
I will accept your arguments as most of them make sense. However, at the same time it’s a system that allows players to continually harass the same players that beat them over and over and not allow them to close bigger objectives essentially making killing player not worth it. Either way it seems the only logic in this system for the player who’s winning is to reset their points frequently as not to allow others to level off them while they cant level off others.
All that being said I agree if there weren’t this heavy dr even if it took years there would be an exploit in the system. It still doesn’t make it any less frustrating.

I feel that the current system is the best compromise.
Imagine that your side is heavily outmanned and enemy zergs are camping just outside all the exit points of your entrance. Let’s say your character doesn’t have stealth. Now should all those enemies constantly get full WXP and good loot for killing you over and over again?
Like others have commented. Spawn camping is a common tactic, but the current reward system makes it a bit less feasible, which is good.
Eh, you say it like going all kamikaze on you for a hint of WXP is actually a good strategy. Oh yes, you’re getting 0 xp from Player Lemming, but you’re also getting lootbags while Player Lemming is likely getting armour damage, unless if he’s outmanned, then stop manning the ballista pointed at his spawn point already.
