Plea for match up threads.

Your not suppose to post screens or Vids of exploits, your suppose to report them, there is also matchup threads on the unofficial forums, which is the responce your going to get as this one gets shut down.
I, for one, just want to have a dialogue reopened between servers. Bottom tiers are lucky to have a thread at all on the fan site.

naw dont report… video or screencap and open a ticket with anet or email it to them or something
they only bother with chat and lfg abuse from reports
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions
I understand the mods got tired of spending so much time dealing with the excessive vitriol in the matchup threads, but by removing all contact between competitors they depersonalized the format. Maybe that fits into their vision (the removal of even teammates’ names in EotM); but that defeats the purpose of the MMO. If I wanted a sterilized RPG experience I’d have more than 2 hours put into Skyrim.
I dislike that we can’t even talk about a server or guild community without having the thread get closed. There are countless faceless and nameless pixels to be fought put there, let’s not force everyone to become such.

That’s because it’s always done in an attempt to antagonize so the thread gets closed for logical reasons.
PVP without flaming in a decent way, is senseless.
Just my thoughts.

That’s irrelevant, I’m telling you Anet procedure. It doesn’t mean I agree with it, but it is what they will tell you to do.

they don’t bother at all, because it’s wvw. and only bad customers who doesn’t shell out a lot of money for gems play wvw.

While I assume there was only handful of people who actually got hurt by the content of Matchup threads the threads were still reported quite a lot which also ment a lot of administrative work for ANet. It was probally pain in the kitten to moderate that part of the forum, no doubt.
I would like to see matchup forum back, because I loved the communication and all the bashing and stuff that happened there. I still doubt it will ever come back.

The fan made matchup threads are far less toxic than ANet’s matchup threads, despite it being uncensored and unregulated. Says a lot really.
We really could use some official matchup threads back. Smacktalk and rivalry is the heart and soul of any competition, and removing the matchup threads removed that from WvW.

The sPvP forums are way more toxic and are still open. Also, you can chat freely with enemies in-game in sPvP, which is an option many WvW’ers wish they could have. For whatever reason, WvW is the only game mode that gets censored so heavily here and in-game.

This thread might survive for a while since it’s Friday.
It’s an interesting point about the PvP threads and others. You can find material just as toxic and negative as what served as grounds for deleting the match subforum.
Given that it would seem Anet doesn’t have (or hasn’t been given possibly, to be fair to them) the resources to address the issues that have persisted in the game, it might make sense for a publicly traded company to not to want to have volumes of information on their site detailing the issues they are unable to address in their product.
I used to use the subforum as a way of gauging the health of the game mode in general, and on other servers. And it’s at least one way to get an idea of what the attitude is like on a server if you’re thinking of transferring. So, it’s unfortunate they chose to remove the forum for that dialogue rather than find a way to better regulate the problems they cited.
I find it frustrating that the terms around what consitutes a match thread have been left somewhat undefined, leaving ANet a lot of room to close threads that are in a grey area and reflect poorly on the game. I got myself banned for the first time a couple weeks ago for repeatedly posing the question “what constitutes a match thread?”. Reasonable question if you want to avoid crossing the line right? Nope, they don’t like that question.
