Please Critique this WvW ZERG War Build.

This should be in the warrior forum.
Pros – range wise, you will do well against the enemy as long as you dodge and stay with the herd.
Con – you have limited mobility; so your mobility will have to come from good team composition.
Always Loyal

My moves are fresh, like my groceries.

Sorry, hopefully it will get moved, thought since it was discussing a WvW build it belonged in the WvW section.

I guess it depends on if you are trying to karma train BL’s or zerg bust in EBG. It’s definitely too slow. Speed helps in trains because almost everyone takes speed boosts and you need to be able to keep up with the train or else you won’t be able to kill anything and won’t be able to get to the capture circle to get credit for towers/keeps. I run GS and S/WH when running in a zerg (perma swiftness + 3 skills that move my character forward) and then swap to LB when in combat. Stability is definitely mandatory because you will get CC’d a lot in zerg fights and when you are trying to take a tower/keep that is sieged up, you have to be able to get through when the gate goes down and you are under heavy siege fire. You also need an invulnerability for this scenario too so I’d take endure pain as well, it’s extremely good. I would drop the traveler’s runes and take superior melandru’s runes then put in Warrior’s Sprint. Actually I would also take a GS but you don’t have to use it while in combat, just put it on while out of combat and skill 3 and 5 will help you stay with the zerg. Then swap the GS back out right before you are about to enter combat. I’d also go for 30 defense and you can take a second endure pain for tower/keep captures or when you are about to fight another zerg you can switch it to the retaliation trait.
- no soldier runes
- no merciles hammer
- no leg specialist
- long bow wtf
- 428 con dmg doesn’t really help kitten
Seafarer’s Rest EotM grinch
Too much toughness. Put 10 in to arms for Unsuspecting Foe or you will never crit. Like Junk said, you should have merciless hammer unless you want to kitten around with the bow and be pretty useless in zerg vs zerg. Conditions don’t really work well in zerg v zerg due to the mass cleansing and the 428 con dmg is not doing anything for you. Drop the tunning crystals and use either precision or power stones. Power scales better than anything, more so against zergs.
use sword-warhorn/hammer not longbow/hammer. rarely is there a situation any warrior cannot be melee in. sometimes you just cant do everything like hit the top of a wall but its OK, thats not your job.
Merciless hammer isn’t important at all.
What is important, though, is some movement/leaps. I’d recommend swapping the longbow out either for a GS or for a sword/warhorn or sword/shield. Or if you’re really attached to your longbow, swap out the hammer. Otherwise your Mobile Strikes trait is completely wasted.
Traveller’s runes are kinda “meh” on a warrior. They’re alright, but they don’t really add anything to your build, since warrior has plenty of easy access to swiftness and mobility. I’d recommend either swap them for Melandru, or for Soldiers and take another shout on your utility bar.
90% of experienced guild/zerg warriors run healing shouts with hammer and sword/warhorn (warhorn traited to remove conditions). It’s not the only viable build so you don’t have to follow the trend, but it is definitely proven to be tough, reliable and useful.
