This is not about whether they are good or bad, can you please put in a way to stop or limit them being used accidentally or for trolling purposes. Getting really tired of the constant frustration of someone pulling a tactivator for no reason, having it go on cool down when it might actually be needed, and seeing people in chat starting to yell, calling out troll this troll that, and asking for names on who pulled it. Of course there is also cases of accidental use.
Can you please only make things like chilling fog, emergency wp, airship defense useable when there are actually enemies in the structure?

Thats not always the best option, because if that guild doesnt have a member on to switch it to public use, than nobody can use them.

Yes, but it’s within your means to control if the issue is becoming endemic.
Spent a lot of time on EB the past week, and every single time, the kitten airship was being pulled for no reason, no enemy inside. As if that wasn’t annoying enough, some people also complain of this causing them lag as well. Please put in some better method of using them, thanks.
Tough call, limiting it to only your guild has many draw backs, and sometimes, risking a troll is better than limiting it to only your guild.
Maybe, if someone not in the guild (or in guild but without express permission) pulls it, a guild officer or someone with the proper permissions, get’s a pop-up to confirm usage of the tactivator?
So the guild leader can decide what ranks would get the popup, and if no one with those permissions is on, then the tactivator wont be activated.

This stuff needs to be able to benefit whatever force is on the map, not to be subjected to wasted use. While it is within a guilds means to control it, that doesnt mean its an ideal solution to the problem, there should be a different method implemented.

Poor supply wasters, they’re frustrated.
Frustrate them more and just invite off-hour people into your guild with limited access, except to toggle the tactivator.

If you’re not in map and know someone who is .. briefly invite them to guild to toggle the activator, then have them leave guild.

Even that wouldn’t solve the problem entirely, only partially and also create a new problem.
a) The enemy with the free or 2nd account would still be able to contest and then activate every tactic by simply attacking the gates with his main account.
b) what if the enemy zerg doesn’t attack any wall/door and doesn’t get spotted by any guard for a period of time while still inside the keep/tower? Wouldn’t that uncontest the objective? (not probable but still possible). If that were to happen then you wouldnt be able to activate any combat tactic!
Maybe allow to guildies unconditional use of the tactics while keeping the restriction for the rest players? That would solve (partially again) the 2nd problem.
The matter is a bit complicated!!!

my server even has two TS after the merge, Drama will be Drama and some people allways find a way to fluff stuff up. Not much can be done without strickt rules enforced by gms and 24\7 coverage. Even then, if a net had the resources, what should they enforce what’s good use what’s bad. I think that is something beyond a net’s control, sadly.

BG pugs need a good flogging! This is the only solution.
Simple solution – create a log with account info recording those who activate the tactic, not unlike those available at the Guild Treasurer and Guild Bank. The log can be read by anyone, so no issues with ‘authority’. A little audit trail would deter a lot of trolling and we know the mechanisms to provide the trail already exist.
The log would allow the servers to see repeated use of the same account at inappropriate times, or the account that placed the tactics on cooldown just before that ‘opportune’ attack with the 10 golems. It would also allow for followup and instruction of new players to WvW who activate those tactics ‘just to see what they do’, not understanding the potential problems posed by placing that tactic on a cooldown.
Make the log available on the tab that reports the tactics slotted on an objective and their status, and therefore readable from anywhere on the map.
Those players who use the tactics appropriately, would not care if their account id were associated with its use. Those who aren’t playing with the best intentions, would be at risk of being found out and reported. The logs, along with a few screenshots, could be used to support the report of misuse sent to ANet.

Each guild can blacklist some players or entire guild to use the activators. This will be more interesting that only public or guild.
This is not a problem unique to one server, it should not be so easy for one person to waste these buffs, and put them on full cool down for no reason.
The only thing I see working for the major objectives at least is to have the primary server guilds make sure they are the ones who get the claims on SMC, Keeps, ect set it to guild only and have a scout from that guild guard them until hand off to another guild and switch claim to a tower or camp when your shift is over at same time you have another guild ready to take over and do the same. This seems to be all that can be done for the time being and it would take coordination and cooperation from guilds to do so. Guild would essentially have to " babysit" the tactivators during their shifts to ensure they are there when they need them.

Unfortunately atm that is the only way to prevent it, but it is not something many guilds want to do. Personally I want these to be available for anyone to use as needed, just make it a little harder to waste. No reason why airship should be pulled when smc is clear of enemies. It creates a lot of frustration and it shows in map chat, this is something that creates more problems.
