You know, I’ve complained a lot about the state of the game, especially, well exclusively fo WvW.

But I just logged in today, heard the Halloween music and decorations, and I thought to myself, “I really dont want to do anything here”

I loved the Halloween events in GW1, but here in GW2 I am totally put off, I am simply not interested. And I love Halloween as well, so feeling like this in this game is just depressing!

I have another account and decided to delete all the characters and move it to NA Blackgate just for fun. But there was no fun to be had!
My guild moved to NA last year for the first season, we’re back in EU now. But back then it was busy with fights going on even at 9pm GMT.
I log into BG at 1am GMT and it’s quiet. Yes there was a commander online, yes there were around 20 people following, but they were PvD’ing, no sign of the other servers! No fights going on, nothing, but just running around.
Last year the fights were almost always a 3-way, all 3 server blobs in one area fighting each other. You could barely stop for a break.

But this week, it’s been dead.
Is it because people are farming the Halloween event? idk maybe.

But we all know players are leaving the game. Anet needs to do something.
WE’ve heard rumours of an expansion for next year, which is great news for PvE players; but what incentive is there for WvW and PvP players there? Why would we buy more PvE content when we want WvW or PvP?!

Even the adopt-a-dev thing has proved itself to be a failure with the first suggestion by devs being the removal of white swords! They are simply out of touch; and when the devs dont know what players want, that is when a game can be classed on being on its last legs.

So Anet, devs, Please Do Something!

I’m under the impression that everyone you had fun fighting last year have migrated to BG, so it’s not a case of declining population but shifting population.

There really isn’t a solution to this unless ANet somehow revamps the entire PPT and reward system to encourage evenly distributed servers. I don’t WvW nearly enough to make any sort of solid suggestion, but something along the lines of handicaps that scale based on population imbalances, a points system more involved than just PPT (perhaps factoring lengths and intensities of battles), and make WvW more rewarding in terms of gold and/or gear (given there are many accusations of guilds being paid to leave for BG, which I have no idea is true or not, but the fact that dedicated WvW players don’t earn nearly as much as PvE players does make it believable).

BG takes a break after Tournaments. You’d know this if you logged on the Server TS. Also, 1am GMT is totally not close to NA Prime time and it is mid-week. many people are at work. There is a lull in WvW when there is events going as well.

So you see there are many factors to why it is “dead” as you call it in WvW.

You guys haven’t tasted dead WvW until you’ve played on Kaineng. I think it was Monday, and I was the only one on my server in EB. The only one. One person in EB.

I’m on Kaineng too. I can confirm WvW is unpopular. I ran all of our own borderlands as the only one on before. And they say I don’t have a right to complain, or “switch servers” which is $30 btw. Uh no thanks.

All bored player in NA go blackgate? interesting. Same is happening on EU. All bored players go SFR who already had tremendously more players. It’s not fun anymore. Look at the glicko advantage of SFR, and it’s only growing because of how powerfull they are in numbers.

If Anet can’t counter this snowballing Wvw is forfeit. Nr 1 server keeps winning, all ppl bandwagon to it, until all other server empty or bored, wich means, Even the super stacked nr 1 server won’t have anyone to fight anymore soon.

As I said, been on a NA server before, it wasnt as dead as it was, its was busy as normal primetime.

Yes this could be due to transfers, people going back to EU, but really more than half of it will be due to people leaving the game.

And why move this to WvW, I placed this in General, as the issues is about the entire game, people are leaving and the seasonal events are boring and dont add anything new or help you to stay and participate in them. Farming the labyrinth is not fun!
