Any time I take a character wielding an Elite Spec-only weapon into a WvW map in which I do not have that elite spec selected, they drop the weapon into their inventory, and it’s a huge hassle to put it back each time (since attempting to equip it from the inventory will just replace your alternate weapon set, and you can’t “swap” to a non-equipped weapon).

Please make it stop doing this. Instead, just have it become disabled if you don’t have the spec to wield it, like with little “lock” icons on it as certain situations already cause. You could leave it as is, and just not be able to actually use those skills, or manually swap it out, but it shouldn’t dump into your inventory.

at least u can select ur elite spec in wvw , i cant altho i have unlocked it.

This is probably because WvW and PvE have separate build templates now. If you’re PvE build is set for the elite but then you try to go to WvW where the build is not set for the elite then you’re weapon gets removed because the elite specialization is not equipped.

No, but you shouldn’t have to do this, I mean what if you found the elite spec good for your PvE or WvW build but wanted to use a vanilla spec in the other mode? It shouldn’t drop your weapon each time. They just need to code it so that not having the spec locks out the weapon skins, rather than dropping the weapon.
