Please fix stealth before nerfing it.
3+ years in and thieves are still complaining about channeled abilities still tracking them when they decide to stealth mid channel….. Smh

Yes, please fix stealth. Make it so it has a penalty and not just all advantage, such as making max movement speed 33% while in stealth:P
OP, you forgot to add blocking and evading stealth attacks reveal the attacker. That should’ve been #1 on your list.
Not a single point the OP makes is stealth being broken in any way. Stealth hides you from sight of enemy players. Which works absolutely as intended. It has been confirmed multiple times by devs that channeling skills are intended to follow you to the completion of the channel. Unless you can prove that stealth does not conceal you on the screen of the enemy player, then stealth is not broken in any way.
It appears to me that the OP is making assumptions that how he believes stealth should work, equals how stealth actually does work.
Now clones, if they stop attacking when stealthed, seems to me to be a issue related to clones and not stealth. If the do continue to attack, then you are removed from stealth, as clones are an extention of your attack. And as we all know, direct damage while in stealth, removes stealth.
Shadow refuge has a specific rule set and functionality. You have to stay in it to benefit. It says that in the tool tip doesn’kitten Thus how can it be broken?

No they don’t….. so why did you try to stealth instead of blocking, evading, or reflecting?
You appear to be one of those especially bad players that understand the game mechanics and either choose to ignore them or just randomly mash buttons hoping things will work out.

And Puck: Stealth is the defensive ability of thieves – we have no invulnerability. When other classes are out of dodges they pop that instead – thieves can’t.
Can I just also point out on the mesmer clones bit that if you see them running to you (as indicates a shatter if they otherwise would be hitting you) going stealth makes them stand still like bloomin puddings. They then proceed to stand there, shrug and detonate at nothing.

Well, you’re in a SR and an attack is incoming, you’re out of dodges what do you do? Port out of your SR? Put a smokefield into your SR while the opponent is in 1500 distance? That doesn’t work.
You can argue all you want and maybe that was what those bringing reveal skills into this game though as well: Stealth is the defense of a thief. That’s why they have no blocks or invulnerabilities.

You move around in the SR, there aren’t that many classes that can cover the entire SR area with an attack and it’s very forgivable with how far on the edge you can be. If I see AoE and I know I can’t stay in it then it’s a shortbow 5 job to run, run, run. If you’re out of ini and dodges and all other cool downs well then you just got outplayed, eat the defeat and think of what you could have done better.
Once again, stealth is a defensive aspect of thief but it is not the only defensive mechanic. Thieves have the highest blind rate of any class unless a guard is traited blind on F1 and is slaughtering idiots to have it refresh. They have the mobility to get out of bad situations, evades on attack skills in some sets (an argument can be made they should cancel other skills when used) and good access to vigor via trained steal. They have decent weakness uptime on dagger with DA minors and soon to be very high uptime with staff.

Stealth is not the defense of thieves, it’s a defense of thieves. This argument equates to the same thing as a warrior complaining that endure pain isn’t preventing condi damage.
Don’t try to counter something with a skill that you already know doesn’t counter it and then come complaining that the game should be made easier for you because you died.
Bad players use stealth as a crutch, playing like that one defense should counter every offense. They don’t utilize the many other defenses of their class, of which there are plenty. These people tend to spam stealth skills, and cry loudly when it doesn’t win the fight for them.
Good players use stealth when the right opportunity presents itself, knowing that stealth isn’t infallible and has counters. These people are experts in utilizing all the defenses given from their class, and if forced to, they can win fights using little to no stealth at all.
I think I see which category the OP falls into.
lol you think your stealth is broken? Try playing a mesmer for long periods of time, you will see a lot more broken things than a thief.

Stealth needs to be removed from the game entirely. Fights are not fun anymore! Everyone and their grandmother is a stealthy. It stretches fights out well past the point of annoyingly time consuming. It’s too much of a chore to deal with. If Stealth class stats need to be boosted to make up for it then so be it.

You are out of dodges? Click a few skills and be a kilometer away from the fight. Stealth is not the only defense of a thief. They are by far the most mobile class in the game that can choose to engage at will.
