I’m so sick of getting into WvW after a 45m-2 hour queue and getting this within an hour or less (this time 15m) of getting in: http://i.imgur.com/gcdrJ.jpg

And of course, I get put RIGHT back in the abysmal queue.

I also can’t even play WvW with sound because after 20 minutes or so, I get this magnetic ringing in one side of my headphones that is coming from GW2 only. Nothing I’ve tried in the Sound settings fixes it, so I have to turn GW2 all the way down in the volume mixer since I can’t restart GW2 because the queue.

So please, PLEASE, give WvW a grace period. Two minutes. Something. Anything. Every time I get DC’d after waiting to get in I just want to punch a kitten.

Edit: I’d also like to add that I only have this issue in WvW. I never CTD otherwise.

I’m playing on an XFX 5780, a 3GHz i7, 12gb DDR3. I have no overheating problems and my physical drive is fine.

It is my opinion that a grace period would mean people would always insta disconnect to get into prime locations and/or avoid death. It would be abused terribly. Although as I am writing this it is because I got dc’d. :P

If possible it should have a limited amount of times in an hour, maybe 2 maximum. If you need more then 2, you shouldn’t be playing honestly. = /

please i agree with op even a 30 sec to 1 min grace period. My internet is shaky at times and when im waiting an hour in q just to get dropped within 15 mins of joining its really upsetting

I’ve always felt like a 2 minute time frame to get back in after dc is reasonable. Having a grace period would be such a huge improvement.

Your character is not removed from the world, you will still die.

There is definitively a need for 1 min grace period.

Having a 2 hour limit of playing is a really bad idea. My guild events in wvw last abot 4-6 hours, plus if im playing through the day i play a lot longer than 2 hours. Plus the 2 hour limit won’t solve anything except make it even more annoying to get into wvw

They aren’t going to limit the time you are allowed to play. They just said in the night capper’s response that no player’s time is more valuable then another.

I would like to see a grace period. Sometimes the client crashes and has nothing to do with internet connection.

I would really like to see something like this happen. If disconnects are abused to avoid death, then just have the system kill the player and port them back to the entrance waypoint upon disconnect. Even this would be preferable to waiting another hour in queue.

This idea has my strong support! It doesnt affect me personally very much, cause my internet is ok, but I have some guildies who just barely get any up time in wvw cause they dc once every few hours. Once every few hours minus 1.5-2 hours queue each time doesnt leave much up time. Its very demoralising for them, and the rest of us by proxy.
Pleeeease give a grace time!!!

When I get DC’d it’s NEVER an internet issue. It’s either the weird sound bug that pops up randomly, or more often GW2 just stops responding. Give us a grace period!

I agree. Gw2 still seems to dislike me and sometimes boots me to character selection screen, this only happens in WvW for some weird reason.

Sucks spending time waiting in a queue and poof, out you go. There are still plenty of people who experience small issues with connection. Either at the fault of Gw2s servers or their own system/connection. But whatever it may be, this could make WvW completely unplayable to them.
Thats a pretty big aspect of the whole game that just drops out.

The disconnects suck. I’ve gotten in once and had my net cut out momentarily, only to have to queue up again.

But what I’m really curious about is that dinging sound issue. I thought once the Grenth event in Orr had overloaded my soundcard… turned out all the stuff blowing up actually overloaded GW2.

30sec-1min where you are vulnerable to attack and another minute or two to reconnect after that would be perfectly reasonable imo

I really want them to give a grace period. Let me die (that’s fine) and also when I do reconnect put me back at the spawn point for my world in that zone. That way it cannot be exploited.

But having to wait to get back in just plain sux.

I think the GW2 crashes are related to sound or something. I would be curious if everyone here is using Vent or something. Seems like it happens most frequently when I have a lot of chatter in Vent and lots of stuff on screen (like a major siege).

The other thought is a memory issue of some sort as the memory usage seems to be the same every time I crash or lockup. I am on Win7 32 bit.

A grace period is not the answer. The answer lies in making the game more stable. Once that happens, you won’t be disconnecting nearly so often as to make it a frustrating experience. Give ANet time to iron things out.

I partially agree. A grace period will always help because at time people can be disconnected because of exterior reasons, not just because of client stability.

Transfer to Ehmry Bay. Good match and you generally get right back in when disconnected because we don’t have that many queues. 3pm eastern, Saturday, no queue on Eternal Battlegrounds.

Or, ya’know, transfer to one of the dozen or more servers with a 5 minute queue or less.

Because they can’t fix the busted queuing and wvw , so that’s the solution they have.

Move to those low pop servers. It should solve your problem. If you still want to stay in winning server, wait 2 hours everytime you d/c. Your choice. I think the answer is pretty obvious here.
