You are losing track of what PVE means.
Player Vs. Environment….are you there to battle the game?

So yea…kind of a dumb response on your part.

If they change the traits they will change the gear and pvp gear is as boring as it gets. You can’t make some weird build with 4 different types of gear mixed together for fun. You can’t build this bizarre build that relies on food to fill in your weak point. Pvp and wvw are completely different animals and I’m glad that they will continue to be balanced slightly differently.

WvW is kind of a combination of both making it unique, whereas PvP is in its own league. WvW is basically PvP on a PvE sized map with some pve elements mainly npcs, animals which need to be removed, and some irrelevant events which really dont belong, for example cull the infestation event in EB…what?

But the PvP element is what is supposed to be the driving principle of WvW. What Dasenthal mentioned is accurate in some ways in that the game allows you to use the same gear, consumables/utilities, and traits/skills in WvW as in PvE assuming they have been unlocked. Whereas in PvP there is no food/utilities, and gear, stats, runes, sigils, skills,traits can be switched anytime out of combat assuming the arena allows it.

I understand your point though OP, it is frustrating for WvW focused players to have to do PvE to unlock something as important as traits or pay so much gold and skillpoints. I have been hesitant myself to make any more new toons because of the trait system which they have thankfully announced they will be getting rid off, no eta though. Even with plenty of tomes of knowledge and the experience scrolls, for an insta 80, the trait unlock implementation just has not, for whatever reason worked, not to mention all the bugged events, and the ones in Orr that are farmed nonstop making them impossible to do, and still all this time, nothing from anet.

I say what needs to be said, get used to it.
