Please match servers based on night time activity.
Then maybe you should take advantage of the day time…
Cept during the day time, we have enemy day time crew too? Its not a problem since we hold or even own the map during the day on average. Night time crews should fight other night time crews, not zerg NPCS to win the map.
I don’t know about other Aussies but I just like to hold hands and sing kumbaya.
At the end of the day, the score is what matters. If your server held more stuff the longest, your server wins. It doesn’t matter if a server held everything for 6 to 7 hours if they can’t hold anything the majority of the time.
Don’t get attached to your towers and keeps. You will lose them. WvWvW is about how long you’re able to hold them.
its far easier to defend a fully upgraded tower/keep that had 6 hours of free supply from the camps.
At the end of the day, night time crews should fight other night time crews. Yes, eventually the stronger daytime crew can put a dent or even pull ahead, but a free take over at night because of a geographic position on the planet is not cool.
Why are night time crews afraid of a fair match?

They’re playing the game… just like you are. Our night time, is not their night time. I don’t understand why your calling them out as “afraid” when they have nothing to do with it, other than playing the game during their prime time.
because if you matched servers based on night time activity, they’d have to play the game the same way we do? you know? against players?

Not a player problem. I know what you’re shooting for though.
not hard to find enemys on night time. just go to puzzle jump; its a badge fest.
But be careful, they can be a lot more than your zerg
How about inviting a few Auzzie guilds to your servers, I hear they are pretty good bunch guys.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

It is a player problem. A lot of night time crews per-arranged to end up on 1-2 servers so they WOULDN’T have to face each other.
“Unofficial aussie server” “Alliances with EURO guilds to hold our stuff at night”
110% player problem. Prime time its all going the way it was meant to be played across the average servers. If they match up servers based on NIGHT TIME activity, we’ll see some great WvW. Also when they stop free transfers.

Then…their NA players have nobody to fight against… You just reversed the roles for the same end result >.<

This has already been addressed in over a dozen threads. The ranking system will move people who can’t field a WvW group at all hours down into the appropriate tier of competition with other servers like themselves.

So basically, those servers just have to get used to losing first in order to win; sure sounds like a winning strategy, except for all of the players who will quit WvW before reaching that appropriate tier because of the off-hours issue occurring repeatedly.

Makes sense, the algorithm should be adjusted to take into account the activity curves during 24 hour periods, and attempt to find servers that have similar looking curves, and player numbers online.

Agreed. Until you match server activity, not just overall score, you’re going to end up with servers yo-yo-ing around between brackets they don’t really belong in because of the score disparity you get from fielding crews at various times.
It’s not too late for guilds to coordinate with off-peak guilds and merge. Yeah, I know, losing your guild stuff sucks when you transfer, but isn’t it worth it to have a shot at the top?

“unofficial” aussie servers still have american players during the day is the problem.
It’s certainly an idea, but how do you deal with a world deemed to have low night time activity who suddenly produce a night time force to take the win. Personal experience has shown me that even the lower population servers are capable of producing very small night time forces in WvW. They stick around and see what the other world populations are like after the reset (For EU this is 00:15 GMT) and they will give up and go to bed when they get wiped enough times or face enough resistance, and it becomes a game of “who’s going to bed first” before leaving the ‘victor’ of these to cap everything.
they can still see player activites(arena net can see actual data)
if a server has a concurrent player base of say, 600 at night across the 4 maps, they should match them up against other servers with similar night time activity.
right now, its only factoring in points generated, which can be artificially inflated by night time crews.
