Tempest and reapers are way to overpowered in wvw, I really don’t understand how a zerg is able to drop massive amounts of meteor showers and aoe fields it is ridiculous. There should be a restricted amount of aoe fields they can use because when a zerg drops 20 red circles its just plain dumb… All zergs do is just drop those skills and wipe out half your group. it makes fights near impossible close quarters and very boreing. there is litteraly no skill involved in zerg vs zerg since all that matters is dropping aoe fields that is ridiculously overpowered. Please fix this

What does any of that have to do with tempest or reaper? Your describing what you see as a problem with fights, not anything to do with the classes themselves. Every class has access to some form of aoe, some of them are more effective then others. Organized groups use them more strategically and rotate for, cc’s, bombs, range hazing, and combo fields. If you see a lot of aoe circles, move, dodge, block, etc etc they all have aoe limits of 3 or 5 targets.

This is not something to fix, aoe is a part of the game, should we all just run up to people and hit them with sticks? Learn to counter properly, if you just expect to walk through everything, of course your going to have a bad time.

What isn’t balanced is the numbers. Any class can so this with AoE’s, I’m sure that with big enough numbers Guardian Staff #2 can also do the same.

This complaint is not about Ele/Necro.

And nothing is balanced in WvW.

My only issue with meteor shower is how it can hit anything on top of walls… Other than that, I think it’s perfectly fine. If an ele is hitting you for 8k meteor shower he problably have 12k HP and less than 2k armor which means that if they mess up they get insta gibbed by anything.

Well the damage of skills is something else thieves can hit even harder with melee skills, what kind of gear are you using?

Actually, it is balanced. You just named exactly and precisely what you did wrong in your own statement just now.

1st, 1 tick of meteor shower hit you for 8k …. that only happens if you are running a very bad build and don’t pop defenses and/or your team mates do not time and pop defenses for you.

2nd and I quote “that’s more then half my hp bar” ….. You are in WVW, not PVE. This is a game mode made and designed for massive battles, again, you need to be running a build on which you can do such things as survive long enough to get a counter going and you need to actually have a counter.

In this case that usually involves a stun breaker and/or a leap or rapid movement ability + stability or condi cleansing to get rid of any soft CC on you, or traits and stat / consumable combos which make you outright immune to immob, cripple, etc. so that you can get out of it.

If you refuse to use these it is no one elses but your own fault.

o, and inb4 “but i play insertlowbasehitpointsclasshere” … I play them too. I have toons of all classes available in the game, my lowest possible hp for WVW on my offensive builds is 20k with 2700ish armor totals, on those very same toons.

You are wrong. There is skill involved in zerg vs zerg fights. Ofcourse meteor showers hurts, why do you think its called a meteor shower? Just because you dont know how to dodge normaly doesnt mean that classes need to get nerfed.

Basically, don’t stand in the red circles. You’re not supposed to be able to just stand there and survive in them.

If you’re melee and tanky, dodge through them/kite round them/leap over them/wait them out/whatever the rest of your melee do. If you’re backline and glassy, stand outside the red circles and cast your own AoEs. If you’re glassy and don’t have AoEs, your build probably isn’t ideal for the situation, but you could just do your own thing and try and focus unsuspecting backliners.

As you become more experienced, you’ll be able to read the fight and guess where the enemy might bomb, so you’re less likely to get caught. If you do get caught, kitten happens, dust yourself off and run back.

Guess you and the ele runs full glass. Yes i’ve been hitted hard by meteor showers too but if i point my bow towards them they tend to eat big damage too. And the problems you mentioned in your OP are not exclusively due to eles/necros as most classes can spam aoes and its the pirate ship meta. ( boring yes but well it is what it is )

So a full zerk Tempest with probably around 12~14k hp and around 1900~ armor should’t be hitting hard on another glass player? Not to mention it takes 3.75s to fully cast it and roots the player while casting… and oh, there’s that large red circle that tells you “something big is gonna hit there” too.

Well, maybe for once you should use your head and stop stacking with your frontline if you have low armor and below 15k HP.

Try experimenting with your equipment. Running glass builds in WvW is not a great idea unless you know how to dodge/time your evasion. More vitality and toughness will help with this.

I guess from a roamers standpoint, they are not too bad to fight 1v1.

For zerging I don’t mind meteor shower just dodge, it’s defending I have an issue with. Fight a pug zerg and they have 10 eles on hand to rain meteor shower destroying any hope of defending. Been an issue since launch and complaint by many.

I don’t run glass ele when I zerg, I run cleric tempest and I’m pretty amazed that I can run into a zerg and take little damage and shout around like a mouse on crack healing everyone. It does seem a little nuts.

I love when reapers dive into the zerg, immbolize=done. They are not as scary as they seem

All those red circles from Necros do get a bit ridiculous at times though. I am leveling a Necro and brought her into WvW at like 65 in greens and I was like holy cow I am powerful, now I see where all those red circles come from. Can’t imagine when I get to 80.

But yes like others have said, moar PVT!

The one thing I will agree with is that Meteor Shower needs toning down a bit. The dev’s should shave 25% off of it. Power creep has it hitting too hard again.

If these people hit hard, they pay in other ways and it is not really universally viable in all situations. You should experiment around with builds, meteors dont really do 8k to me on most of my classes.
