well in this world teleporting to waypoints is the main way of traveling for us…it makes sense. That aside, it would be pretty impossible to defend against zergs and would probably help them more than harm them. That and people could always port by suiciding but they would have to find a tall cliff to do it, or kitten off a pack of moas or something. Although it would be rather entertaining having a commander to tell a zerg “suicide to moas, we need to defend garrison” it’s pretty silly at best.
It’s either wp’s or mounts. Take yr pic. I run around waaaaay more than enough in this game tyvm.

removing WP’s would just make travel time for tedious in exchange for… ? are you looking to make the PPT game more tactical? that doesn’t seem worth an increase in tedium
Removing WP it will be a present to bad Commanders, no more need to target the enemy WP.
It’s time to use some basic tactics.
Removing waypoints only makes the maps even more blobby, no time to defend at all then. My guess it OP karmatrain gets wrecked pushing into a keep and watch the defenders take the WP when its uncontested 2-3 sec every 3min and actually have to fight other players to get the rewards.

Don’t argue with idiots, they pull you down their level and own you with experience.
Remove all supply on leaving a wvw map – be it change maps or to logout. That will teach zone blobs .. no more rushing straight to lord with 4 superior rams on every gate.. having to supply up the whole of the zerg will give another 2-5 minutes for the defenders to respond.
Fixit like it was when it was “bugged” so you can not teleport from map A to map B keep without first teleporting to Citadel, if you want to take it one step longer then add so you first have to go to the map your on Citadel and from there Teleport to other maps Citadel.
I like how Waypoints can cuase some pretty epic Siege battles but I dislike how you can just beam around the map at times.
I don’t expect this to change though since it’s a pretty fundamental aspect of the game.

Please give us a keyring…
If you want to WP removed then remove it yourself. There is only one permanent one on each map per team. The rest can be destroyed. If you think they break the game take them out. Don’t let your opponent upgrade to that point.

You probably could remove waypoints IF rewards were given for defending objectives and escorting dollies, or even add a Patrol event where you have to follow a few vets and do a few side events so bots cant just follow the route.
atm organised servers are picking people at random from their voip and getting them to stay in a tower for 15-30 mins before swapping with another person.
Anet needs to add such a feature in the game and make it rewarding. But as they have already said, they cant think of a way to do it right now.

WvW, we only care if it affects the servers we play on.
It will make for more exciting and tactical gameplay. Once you’re out there, you’re out there for good. It makes sense. All zergs do is teleport around. Please consider fixing.
There is a fix: contest the keep and they can’t use the waypoint. Waypoints are a justified reward for holding a keep long enough (and spending enough supply + gold) to get the waypoint upgrade, and for keeping enemies away from the keep so that the waypoint is uncontested.
If they changed waypoints like this… People wouldn’t leave their side of the map so it would turn into bunker wars 2.
