Question, before I go purchasing the Poly-luminescent Undulating Refractor (Black), I would like to know if it’s effect works in WvW. I spend almost all my time in game there so buying the item and then having it not work would be a waste of quite a bit of gold. Anyone know the situation and if it works?

It does. It even changes the color of any golems you pilot.

what about for enemy servers? can they see the effect? or is it strictly allies only? I imagine they cant see the effect, but it could be like the food buff which changed colour of the character

Enemy servers can see the effect as well, although it may be slightly muddled if you have enemy team colors turned on (I do). I haven’t tested this yet, as I don’t know if an enemy has one or not.

Since golems are not affected by the team colors option, though, you would most definitely see it on them (I have). People have been buying the black like crazy so they can have their sleek black Porsche omegas.
