have you looked at the thread? very few people are discussing anything, theres no back-and-forth. most just leave a page long response consisting of an opinion they compiled last year (or even less recently) and pray the devs will read it, but dont actually read anything anyone else posted because they dont want to waste 2 hours reading pages upon pages of garbage they more or less agree with.
kinda feel sorry for the devs, since theyve taken it upon themselves to try to read so many repetitive posts.

I am not advocating for any solution because this is beyond my abilities to solve. But This is the CORE issue

OCX/SEA players need their own datacenter. Having their population concentrated on a few random NA servers with the way the scoring currently works destroys match-ups across tiers.
OCX/SEA players should always end up in a match-up with another server that also has a similar OCX/SEA population. There’s no way to do that currently.

No, this is the same topic. Solutions identify problems or target problems. One cannot exist without the other. This thread should be merged.

It is both. Coverage has a greater effect on PPT but prime population imbalances makes for some really not fun fights. Essentially good coverage propels servers into higher tiers where their NA prime is often out manned. So for 2/3 the day it is PvDoor and the other 1/3 day it is barbarians at the gate.

No, this is tangentially related at best because there is no solution to this central problem with WvW match imbalance. You can NOT find a solution to this problem, ergo not part of that thread.
There is simply not enough Off Primetime population to go around to make matches competitive. Even if they “merged servers” there wouldnt be a big enough Off Prime time population to make more than 1 tier of competitive matches like it is now. The servers that are T1 have LOTS of coverage 24 hours a day, BUT no server is running queues all maps all day everyday or anywhere close. Look at what Mal said on the WvW forums about how much planning and organizing for coverage they did in preparation for this season to fill in the gaps BG had in their coverage. Look at JQ, arguably the king of T1 riding on the back of their monster SEA population. They get it. So does BG, BG specifically went for a Russian team in Season 1 to counter the SEA timezone of JQ.
This is all from looking at PPT and scoring and the whole 24 hour aspect.

I was on both IOJ and then Dragonbrand when they both got to T1. I know this as well as anyone….
The thing about both those experiences is I saw our off prime population disappear because the T1 coverage of those time zones was too powerful.

no. it was early or middle of 2013 around when EMP on JQ broke up and DB became Wagonbrand, IOJ was back when they had hire and ND for ocx and sea coverage.
i don’t remember DB ever be in T1….. highest was T2.. if you were referring to this http://mos.millenium.org/na/matchups/history/89 thats just some RNG match up. to qualify to be a T1 server it need to be in rank 1-3…. DB highest was rank 4. T1 match up yes, T1 server no.

I don’t, I agree the lack of back and forth is a problem, but it is a problem created anet due to the format adopted for the CDI threads and these WvW threads which are in the same format. They explicitly only want user suggestions which they can comment on as they see fit.

Yeah, it wasn’t a T1 server. I didnt claim it was either, but there is only one T1 match and if you are in it you got to T1. Work on your reading comprehension and stop quibbling about superfluous details. IOJ wasnt a T1 server either when they went to T1 while I was there. Both of those servers fell apart after the T1 servers crushed them though. You can see if you look over the week there that you linked that Db’s SEA could barely hold on against BG and SOR and Db’s SEA is what carried them that high because NA could never get it together.
