Not sure if this is possible, but what about the idea of eliminating the whole WvW concept and turn it into a FvF battle (Faction vs Faction). There are currently 3 factions in game and conveniently, also 3 borderlands..

I’m not sure how Anet has their servers set up but instead of having the current system we have now (9 tier battles with 27 servers connecting); why not just have 4 faction battles across 4 far more powerful servers that could hopefully handle the player load.

Basically we’d be eliminating WvW as we know it, and players would then join a faction instead. You’d stick with this faction for the duration unless you decide to transfer. Factions would be re-shuffled periodically to ensure the populations are spread out as even as possible. Whole guilds would be shuffled (not just 1 person in the guild). This would mean players can only be part of 1 guild in FvF which would mean when they chose their faction, they’d have specify which guild they are representing for the duration.

This is what I’m hoping would come out of it:

- All Borderlands and EB would be drastically expanded to accommodate more players
- The populations are even so we’d have very little cases of severe outnumbering
- Unique siege and traps available to each faction

Then hopefully (a big hope), skill lag may be reduced or eliminated and server resources combined due to there no longer being 9 separate tier battles.

Again, not sure if this is possible.

That is not why there is skill lag. Skill lag is created because of the amount of people and therefore, calculations, that need to be done in a short period of time. When you have 50 people using attacks against 50 other people, every attack bounces between the server and other people’s computer to compute the damage done etc.

More players in a BL actually creates MORE lag when big battles occur. Reducing the number of tiers does nothing to reduce lag.
