Full disclosure, I was raised by a family of grubs.

Portals can be annoying, they can also be cool. But they are part of the game. Downed State is most assuredly part of the game, and not going anywhere soon. Giant Grubs are part of the game, but please leave them alone.

Unless we want to play the MMO equivalent of two cavemen throwing rocks at each other, (and as I type this, that’s starting to sound cooler and cooler) there are going to be aspects of the game that you dislike. Without them, WvW would be boring.

People are always making posts about this one thing or that one thing that is “ruining the game.” The truth is that there will always be something that people will think is ruining the game. Even when the only class is the Caveman and the only ability is Throw Rock, some people will complain that rocks crit for way too much damage, while others complain that they never do enough.

Instead of making another complaint thread, how about posting a story about that time you held off the zerg with two level 17 Asura’s, an arrow cart, and 50 pieces of candy corn. Or the time you had an epic 1 on 1 battle that lasted 15 minutes with that heal specced guardian that just wouldn’t die and seemed to have /laugh on a hotkey. Or the time you were being chased by 20 angry SoR, only to have the WvW server come down just in time to save you from certain death, and how you immediately ran to the forums to make an inane post to brag about it while waiting for the BGs to return. Just sayin…

I’m glad you bought up the ‘Throw Rock’ exploit. Anet obviously didn’t intend players to use this and yet players are using it left, right and center.

Only problem with the grub is that it sort of screws over blue on some servers. Obviously you can’t control some people, and if they want to kill a grub, they’re gonna do it. It doesn’t help that the grub is right outside keep. Red has the ghost oakheart, but it’s not right outside there keep where everyone who just WP’d can see the event, and I don’t even think green has any.

I’ve never seen that event, right after zoning in or otherwise actually. I guess my server doesn’t really get to doing it much.

The point is that not everyone agrees on whether things like giant grubs are good or worth keeping, but saying that an event which will maybe draw a dozen people from the blue team (the kind of people who would be zerging anyways) for 10 minutes on 1 map out of 4 ruins the entirety of WvW is surely an exaggeration, no?

I was being sarcastic, but now that you explain it only happens on the blue side I can sort of see it would be an issue. As someone who is always in green, I don’t think we have any equivalent and we see the grub as a place we can always find you standing around unaware.

Ah. I wasn’t 100% sure if you were serious, sarcasm often doesn’t work on forums as it’s difficult to get your tone across. I doubt that anyone who really spends time in WvW thinks the grub is a good idea, but I guess WvW isn’t exclusively for that category of people.

Actually, I did get chased by 20 angry enemies when the game closed down. Normally I’d get away, but I was stupid enough to run deeper into enemy territory, so things weren’t looking too good for my armor.

Oh, and nerf rocks and giant grub, they’re making wvw unplayable.

no, giant grub is not ruining the game, it is for fun/trolling. the other day, after capturing Bravost, me and my guildies were wandering not knowing where to go next, suddenly a guildie who was on an omega golem suggested we take on the overgrown grub, and so we did, and took turn using the golem hitting the grub….. we were lol’ing like hell….

How do I get the giant grub to use my portal? Every time I drop one on the grub, he never presses ‘F’?

The giant grub is the best dev troll in the game.

I like portals. I find it interesting.

What the everloving kitten is going on here? Are you trying to make a positive WvW post including things people enjoy in wuvwuv?

Well since we are telling some stories and talking about trolls…. One time i was with a group of people inside a keep while it was getting attacked. We were outnumbered and knew it was a lost cause so we decided to kitten with the attackers. About 7 of us went to the top of the main building and waited. (this was the blue keep in EB) We then proceeded to push off all the invaders that tried to get to the vista at the top. Good amount of laughs had by all. Invaders included.

I agree, have you used rocks in AC SM? So overpowered

I actually came here to agree with you about the portals and downedstate.

Misleading title!

Downed state needs to be removed from pvp.
Portals need to be removed from jumping puzzles.
