Hey Elite, been enjoying your commanding, the havoc and pugmanding, always fun.
I’m all for lowering the map cap again. Lower than they did last time.
Seems a lot of people only play EB and favor the 3-way setup of the map. Makes sense, having the home BL creates natural 2v1 scenarios and can be more running than most people want to do.
Some have been asking for on-demand maps that’s an interesting way too. Lowering the map cap tho could definitely help with the unplayable skill lag.
Another thing I want to suggest is reduce population of EB to 30-40 people and have 3 EB maps and on each map you start in different keep. So have 3 Alpine maps, 3 EB maps and 1 desert map. Since as far as I know most people like eb map the and que there is always longest. EB always gets the biggest blobs and most lagg especially 3 way SMC fights. Also only small portion of players like desert borderland so having 1 should be OK.

Reduce aoe/cleave spam skills, make some classes have better AOE’s to compesate on longer CD.

Small-scale at the moment makes WvW not worth playing. It’s way worse than even pirate ship because builds are almost the sole factor in what determines who wins.
I recall an ANet programmer a long time ago on the issue claiming it was because of proc effects causing a huge number of interrupts to be made when the fight happens. This also explains the phenomena as to why performance has only gotten worse over the years; the vanilla game had very few of them, and they’re absolutely everywhere, now. It also explains why it only happens in blobs (yet affects the rest of the map); the server won’t choke if these things happen even only milliseconds apart across the map.
Most of the major issues in WvW right now can be traced back to primarily class balance and the advent of the guild hall killing small guilds’ presence in WvW. Small havoc groups quit when they realized they needed 3k+ gold for the +5 supply buff, and are not coming back because roaming and havoc simply just isn’t fun with how the professions and powercreep from HoT is right now (I.E. re-forge your ascended gear into HoT-stats or gtfo).

30v30v30 EB would be pretty neat. Would have to keep the squad to around 20 and everyone else roam/defend.
They should try 50 man caps since the squads are 50 max. Seems you can have a lot more that 50 each right now.
