long story short, before the last patch i used to easily solo the quggan camp (the island in the middle of the boderlands) with my berseker thief quickly and without any problems. Post patch, now it requires more than 2 people of all lvl 80 exotic/ascended gear to capture this camp. It has come to a point where i dont even bother going there anymore because of the insane spawn rates of the kraits. Everytime i kill one krait another 3 spawns. And the veteran krait with all those knockbacks and insane damage just makes life harder. who else is having problems taking this camp solo?

Krait spawn rates have always been silly at centre island.

The changes they made to the Krait are what’s killing you, sure they used to hurl you around like a ragdoll with their knockdowns and knockbacks and pulls, but you deal with it.

Now they all give eachother 5~10 stacks of might, fury, and quickness, and beat the kitten out of you while ccing you to high heaven

I know my Necro can’t just meander onto the island, AOE everything and take it any more, you’ll need to take out small groups of the Krait at a time and work with the Quaggans, especially the veteran shaman.

I noticed I had trouble taking a supply camp this morning .. I have never had a problem before and have taken many supply camps by myselft— this time I was downed 2 times I was not sure if it was a mesmer nerf or the camp guys got a buff.

Camp supervisor now have buff which you can’t do any damage within 5 or 2? minutes now. I think anet don’t want solo activities on camp and quggan island now.

There’s a slight increase in krait spawn, it does take a bit longer than it used to, but for me at least, it’s still totally soloable.

Four minutes I believe. If you target the guild claimer npc in the camp and he has the righteous indignation buff on (takes four minutes after a camp is flipped to go away) … He’s literally impossible to solo … Heck, a zerg of 20 will have trouble …..

Start killing a few from the outside and go in. Kill a few around the node, then enter with caltrops and daggerstorm. Imediatelly after this go stealth to recuperate, you will need it. Never go stealth near the quaggans, the krait imediatelly change target when you go invis, and you take a lot of colateral dmg. Kill the vet quickly, he plays ping pong with you. Look at quaggans and try to fight there, but avoid stealthing near them, as i said. You can use caltrops even when on a power/crit build, its there just for control. If you are a full beserker, then it may be very hard, you will be poisoned all time, for example, and cripled for a big part of it, also. Watch out your revealed, ull need a lot of stealthing.
Edit: the supervisor allways had that buff, Righteous Indignation, it starts as soon as someone takes the camp, and starts at 4.59 secs. What they did was remove the condition dmg that was still going through, and some other small dmg. Wait for it to go away, then solo the guy, nothing changed in the camp npc’s, just the stealth aggro and this fix to the supervisor.

full beserker glass cannon thief and I still solo it. It is a bit more difficult because of the nerf on omnomberry pie. I have to watch my health more closely and even sometimes cut short a daggerstorm to heal because i no longer get insane healing from it.

I believe it is a bit harder, it takes me longer to solo it and I may have to disengage once or twice.

The main thing I’ve noticed about Krait, not just in WvW, is the tail strike. I usually babysit garrison watergate when I’m on, which means capping the nodes and island. Solo before was simple, like most things don’t stand in the aoe, but now it requires actual thought. Still doable solo (I’m a staff necro with wells and pain inverter; power heavy build), but definitely the difficulty has increased. Kind of like the lab in Sparkfly, man krait hit like a truck, kind of fun and annoying at the same time.

My thought is that they added a mechanic where everything with a tail has a tail strike. The drakes used to and now it seems the krait do, or maybe they always did, but couldn’t remember how to do it…guess they have been taking some learning annex courses.

I can solo it as a Tank Ranger with FAR less DPS than a Berserker Thief. Maybe the problem is your survivability, not DPS?

I think the bigger problem with the central node is how useless it is. It sends worthless Quaggan Guards (not Shamans, those are from the West, North, and East nodes and are sent to their respective Keep direction) to the southern supply camps which really doesn’t even stall a solo player from capping the supply camp and doesn’t do much except give the player free Bloodlust stacks.

I’ve seen this npc’s health lower than 100% during buff. Supposedly retaliation does this. Not 100% sure on that.

As for the krait/quaggan camp, I’ve soloed it on a necro.

What makes you think it was meant to be soloed?

Veteran guards were meant to be difficult solo content.
Supply camps were meant to be difficult group content.
Towers were meant to be multi-group.
Etc.

As consumables, player skill and stat creep have hit the game, everything is becoming soloable but that wasn’t the intention.

Yes im a full beserker theif too. Even with daggerstorm my health goes down quickly especially when there are 10 or more kraits at the centre of the island. Now what im doing is, im pulling kraits away from the circle and bringing them closer to the veteran quaggans so they can fight while i dps from the back. Even with that, the spawn rate of the kraits are insanely fast everytime i kill one krait another 3 or 4 kraits spawn. making it impossible to cap.

Agree that the altar of storm is harder to solo now but still doable. I do it all the time to grain 25 stacks of precision.
The only diff I notice is that the poison debuff hits harder and longer. That’s about all there is actually. I use to just dagger storm ( with ommi pie) now I have to dodge and manuver more to stay alive.
