The suggested EU reset time, Fri 18:00 UTC, seems very good. Friday would be much better than Saturday.

…we have a couple questions first…

Tyler Bearce, I want to sincerely thank you and the WvW staff for considering to change the reset time back to Friday’s. Although it’s not the most critical issue that’s been plaguing WvW since HoT’s release, it has been important to many of us, especially our SEA and OCX folks.

But what I really want to emphasize here is why this communication from you is even more important than what the communication is about.

1) Someone from the Anet Staff came to the WvW Forums and posted… anything! You didn’t do it on Reddit! You did it here on your own Official Guild Wars 2 Forums Bravo!!! )

2) BEFORE implementing a change to WvW, you came to your WvW forums and Asked the WvW Community in the WvW Forum their opinion on the possible change! (Quite frankly, I’m shocked. Happily so, I might add. )

It’s this kind of approach – coming to the Official GW2 WvW forums and asking the WvW community their opinion on something – that’s been so desperately requested by the WvW community for a very long time. And I love how you did it… the verbiage, “Hey guys…” and “we have a couple of questions first...” This approach makes me feel like a welcomed and valuable family member or friend being asked his/her opinion regarding something important to us all. This is a VERY BIG STEP in the RIGHT Direction for the new WvW leadership at Anet!

Please keep up this kind of approach in the future days and changes to come to WvW. The WvW Community really, really desires to be “part of the process” that helps evolve this incredible game mode into what it can become!

I would keep the previous reset time, so basically an hour earlier than what you have listed in the post.

I’m cool with whatever majority votes for on this issue. More for friday myself though.

Good point was that I could play in satuday day/morning off work, while if reset on saturday there are much less action because it’s not as valuable as if the reset just happened 1 day ago.

There are a great many of us that work the standard Monday through Friday; When resetting on Saturday it seems I have to wait half way through my weekend before I dare invest any siege. (kinda pointless just before a reset)

As a typical working man that ‘Starts’ his play time on Saturday, I prefer a clean slate to set my home world off on as good a start as I can provide.

Don’t care what time,.. but Friday reset rules!!!!

Personally I prefer the Saturday reset times. As an EU player on an NA server, Saturday times work out better for me.

Friday please. I would prefer the old time but i understand that might not work as well for those on the west coast for NA so i’d be ok with the later time you posted(this is coming from someone in central standard time zone).

I definitely support Friday night resets. Back when I played WvW actively reset night was always my favorite, just spending a few hours running around with my guild killing things.

In any event, I think the 6pm pst/9pst reset time works well for NA. I can’t comment on EU. I feel like 7pm pdt is too late for the the east coast, as that would mean reset being at 10pm.

Also would it be possible to base the reset time on pacific rather than UDT? that way it wouldn’t be changed by daylight savings time in the US. Under the previous system reset would be an hour earlier in the winter than in the summer, which makes it hard for some people to make it on time half the year.

I don’t mind Reset on saturday but that’s because I have no real schedule for firdays/saturdays however a lot of my guild mates are better off when reset is on friday.

Our tentative plans are:

• NA resets on 6PM/7PM PST/PDT Fri (2:00 UTC Sat)
• EU resets on 10AM/11AM PST/PDT Fri (18:00 UTC Fri.)

2) Do the above times seem reasonable to you guys? If not, what time do you propose that you believe would please a greater percentage of the community, while still not overlapping with our hotfix window?

Yes, I like the idea of bringing this back to 6PM Pacific on Fridays for reset. It was great because, if you had the night off, it was super busy in WvW and a great time to play (assuming you made it through queues haha). More importantly, it made the whole weekend a fresh start and a great time to really duke it out before the weekly rankings set into places later in the week.

Had a discussion with a friend yesterday evening and one of the things that we spoke about was this issue. Neither of us liked the Saturday evening resets! I would really like the reset to be changed back to Friday evening, somewhere before prime time EU. So basically the way it was before.

And thank you for finally listening to the community.
