I don’t agree with BG players much but I agree with them (and everyone else) to change reset to Friday.

I badly miss Friday night reset. Nothing like sitting down after a long week to kill some pixels with friends. Please set it back to the pre-HoT schedule. I think this will also increase population in wvw on weekends as, right now, the scores are usually settled by Saturday, which discourages people from going online. The Oasis event was one of the few things that got people into the bls outside of reset night and, with that gone indefinitely, I fear the population will fall even more, accelerating the downward spiral it’s been on since HoT (as fewer people sign on there are fewer reasons for people to sign on so fewer people sign on). Returning reset to its old time is, I believe, one of the few things that might start to reverse that trend.

In my opinion 7-8pm EST on Friday would be amazing. I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 since the first Beta for this games Launch. I’ve lately stopped playing because To be honest, WvW just isn’t fun anymore, the new borderland maps were a flop, especially for the lower tiers. And to put a nail in the coffin the change to Saturday nights “when most humans go out” I’m not around and I know many others at least in our guild are out as well. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK TO FRIDAY!

I like the idea of Friday being reset again it is when most of my guild can play and allows our SEA people to play with us without any problems. However, 9-10pm EST is pretty late to start maybe 7-8 EST might work better for everyone I know it interrupts with any patch you would release and while a patch during reset is annoying I would prefer it over reset being much later.

Friday works out. 9pm EST is fine, like old times.

Friday reset is much more convenient. 7 or 8pm CST would be perfect, anything later makes east coast log too early and anything earlier interferes with dinner schedules and everyone loves to be there right exactly when the borderlands open.

On the GW2 subreddit I made a straw poll asking which day people would prefer for reset. Currently 130 players said Friday while 12 said Saturday. It’s obviously not representative of the playerbase, but I think there is a clear favorite here.

Even though I can’t do reset much anymore, this makes Saturday afternoon WvW much more important. It would be great to change it back.

In 20 hours, this thread has acquired 6 pages of replies with 99% of those replies all calling for Friday.

I do not know how much more clear we can be about this. WE WANT FRIDAY BACK!

Friday reset please. Friday reset would basically allow a full extra day of meaningful and impactful WvW play before the weekday coverage wars takes over. Scores are often times not close enough to make realistic efforts to try to catch up to another server at the end of the week as it is currently, so there simply is no competitive reason to play Friday night and Saturday during the day right now.

I would imagine most playtime in general is done on the weekend, so as it is now, there is little reason to play WvW for more than half the weekend. And for people that primarily play WvW, that would mean there is little reason to play Guild Wars 2 for more than half the weekend.

1.) I would prefer the WvW reset to be on Friday. I personally have only made 1 reset since HoT because of the change to Saturdays. I also know all but one guild I’ve had communications with recently has reported a decline in participants in comparison to pre-HoT Friday resets.

2.) The proposed times work for me being an East Coast adult player. I can get done with work, eat dinner with the family, then sit down and game my brains out until my eyes can’t stay open any longer.

Additional info about myself that you may want to consider:
1. I’m on Sorrow’s Furnace server
2. I primarily PvE – specifically raids a few nights a week
3. I like to try to squeeze in WvW and sPvP in one night a week each, although with seemingly falling numbers (more specifically, on Sorrow’s Furnace) it’s harder to “jump into the fun” of WvW when the borderlands/EB feel empty.

Which coincidently match the response right after the reset change. 99% didnt want it changed. 99% still want it back. Go figure.

Absolutely. Friday was a MUCH better time for WvW reset.

I’d like to see Friday 8pm EST personally.

But as long as it’s Friday and it’s not before 3pm EST or after 10pm EST I’d be happy. One being too early and the other being too late start gaming my heart out with drinks and warm blankets.

I would ask it be an hour earlier. 10pm eastern is terrible for Eastern let alone if the queue monster attacks. I used to live in Ohio and to be honest I would not make an effort even as guild commander to make every week because of how late it would be and how late we play until. An hour does make a difference between fighting for a keep for 2 hours and stopping to see it flip or 3 hours to capture and hold it getting ready for the next time zone.

Yes put them back to Fridays, and please stop using that hotfix excuse, your hotfixes happen on any day of the week at any time with no given warning, and on some occasions 2 or even 3 times a day, so lets not pretend like you have some kinda schedule for them, its just laughable, as someone that has played since beta I’ve seen you patch at the most inappropriate times over and over again, even when that patch was for something extremely petty.

As I recall, this is what it was:

—> 8pm EST during Daylight Savings (Spring/Summer/Fall)
—> 9pm EST during non-Daylight Savings (Winter)

If you change it back, it will solve one of two problems. (About 60% of the population loss)

The other problem is that you took away the old borderlands. (About 40% of the population loss)

I only say it’s a problem because of people complaining about the new ones.

I think that moving back to Friday would be good, but those times are way too late – the old time was perfect, otherwise resets are going to be really short.

Friday – 5PM PST / 8PM EST is perfect

Most people expressed their point on why it should be friday, I support it myself – it just made sense to have the reset when weekend started, so that we could start the new matchup with renewed force.

This time is very awful for the Eastern and Central North American time zones. I do agree that Friday would be a better day, but I would put the times the same as they used to be. If they changed the times the way anet is proposing, reset would not begin until 10pm my time, which is around the time most of my server actually goes to sleep. Myself, my guild, and all of my server strongly object to the changing of times like this. PLEASE don’t make reset later than it already is. PLEASE NO

1) Friday please, time should be 8pm EST start.
2) We are okay with hotfixes during reset times. It’s normal for a MMO.

Friday 9PM EST is OK until daylight savings time hits. Being west coast and having to work makes 5PM PST a tight squeeze.

First: Definately change it back to Friday regardless of time.

Second: Why so late? Just set it back to the old time, and if you have to update, do an update. You guys seem to hardly update on Fridays and ruining a guaranteed Friday night reset time because you might update has never made sense. Just do your dang update, and we’ll adjust from there. Will it be annoying? Sure. Even with that annoyance will it still be better than Saturday or late Friday? Absolutely.

Back to Friday 1hr after daily reset is nice to me.
