Move it back to Friday same time as before 8/9pm est, 5/6 pm pst, when probably the largest volume of wvw players are normally on. Then set the latest you would run a patch 1 hour before that reset time. I don’t even know why you guys would run a patch at the very end of day when potential emergency issues could crop up after.
There have been times when a patch went through on friday and screwed up some stuff for the entire weekend. Only game breaking emergency patches should be considered for friday release, leave everything else for early monday if anything.
Also, probably too late for this change anyways, but it’s nice that you guys are at least giving this some consideration.

I think you should just move WvW reset, back to when it used to be… Friday 1 hour after daily reset. There was absolutely nothing wrong with that day and time. Saturday’s aren’t working for most people. And Anet lost a lot of WvW players with the time change and also the map changes.
Friday is good, but that late definitely is not. By that proposed reset, our guild is already starting to log off. Having the reset that late would essentially kill reset for our guild. Like most of the other posters, i agree that changing the reset time back to what it was originally was, Fridays at 8/9 Est, is really the best option for moving reset.
The original Friday night time 1hr after reset was great! Please don’t move it so late that it makes it unplayable on east coast, as proposed.
As a side note, I don’t think it is a good idea to hot fix on Friday nights either. Any issues that come up from the hot fix(s) will be difficult to fix over the weekend. This is why most development teams do updates on Wednesday or Tuesday.
+1 for friday , i mean cmon reset time is like right after midnight for most countries in EU , who would want to make a “reset rush” while having to go to work the next day..
but with friday you have an entirety of 2 days to complete any weekly in-game activities without having to either wait for the entire week to go by, in case you are busy Mon-Fri and you can get things done more efficiently even in wvw because more players will be available to play during that reset
wow, I am surprised so many people seem ok with (or totally oblivious to) a late Friday nite reset time for the prime time EST NA crowd. Friday or Saturday make no difference to me since I am PST NA with a flexible schedule but I have a feeling 9/10pm EST reset time will make more of a difference than some people might consider.
I have always thought the original community proposed option to initial announcement of the reset day to Saturday in considerations of the reasons for it made much more sense. Thursday prime time seems like the best day to involve the the maximum number of players in the early parts of the reset and get the most enjoyment of their weekend playtime. /shrug
I do remember all the patches after resets that created huge kittenstorms on the forums so I always figured we kind of asked for it when ANET went to Saturdays for expressing our distaste so vehemently. Sort of like how we sort deserved this failed Desert Borderland map for all those salty tears demanding new maps when the Alpine map was the least of our problems.

Just compare activity of the players before and after the change in reset time. And you will see if it did affect it positive or negative.
And for the WvW overhaul don’t stale it more… That’s the most replayable game mode in GW2 you should put more effort into it! We lost a lot of players to BDO cos they just offered some gvg.. and sieges! Witch is stupid!
On one side there are those who’s matches are on knife edges with very little between them.
On the other these seem in the minority, usually one world is well in the lead by Friday evening making a comeback impossible.
So in all probability a late reset on Friday would be better. If an update is being pushed this could be done at the same time.
A split in time for updates might also be useful, push the EU update, if any, forward a few hours to match their reset. This would mean that it wouldn’t happen during a week or cause issues in play. A difference in time won’t make any difference to the game itself as it will still provide a level playing field locally.

I’m PST and would rather a Friday reset than Saturday. Saturday during the day is absolutely pointless since it is the end of the match, as is Friday night currently. I didn’t feel any need to log into GW2 at all today until my rally.

Friday night at the old time. I brought this up on at a server meeting last night and the overwhelming preference seemed to be Friday at the old time. I also think bringing back the old BL maps would help revitalize WvW.
It is a bit too early for EU, I would suggest 19:30 GMT+0 since it would give time for people working late to make it to reset raids. But yeah, in general, YES FRIDAY, YES!
I see the pros of changing the reset to Saturday night (on EU servers), as the patches would definitely have been annoying during reset.
However, I still vote for going back to Friday reset. This is because generally, people are more keen to look forward to a nice gaming night after a long week of uni/work. This applies more on a Friday night than Saturday night, especially if people are out drinking/travelling during the weekend.
Time-wise, 6pm UTC is definitely fine, and I don’t see why that needs to be changed. 6pm UTC is right before/the start of prime time each day. Imo, no matter when reset time is, the time should be kept at 6pm UTC.
