Indeed. I have opened over 100 WXP chests and gotten 4 rares, no exotics, no ascended items.

So far the drop rate of rares seems to be less than 5%, which is way too low, if you ask me. Guild missions, puzzles and rushes reward me with 2-3 rares. You also get at least one rare from doing a world event. Both are easier and faster than getting a WXP rank, so why the rewards are so low? Or have I just been unlucky with my WXP chests, 100 green items…

If you ask me, I would change the WXP chests, so that:
1. Each chest gives you at least a guaranteed random rare item
2. Every 50th chest is guaranteed to give an exotic item or better (might be precursor), or ascended item (this should not crush the game economy as most random exotic items cost around 1 gold at TP)
3. Every 100th chest gives guaranteed random ascended item

Less random than the current system. Now each player would know that every 50th chest would give something good.

I got a precursor in WvWvW about 2 hours after hitting 80, got full exotics, some culture gear and commander with 70g left over.

Good times.

I don’t really keep track. I know I’ve gotten at least 1 exotic, 2-4 rares, 1-2 superior siege for the fancier things. (Slightly relevant, I play on 3 characters and the highest is rank 30. I probably haven’t opened that many chests.) WvW is fun though. The chests are extra prizes to me.

No, but I think it would be fair for the chests to contain a guaranteed rare like the boss chests, of which you can get more than 15 a day through grinding- what’s the practical limit to rank chests per day anyways? If it’s too high then getting more than 10 in a day could result in adding the chests to a backlog like the pre-update chests, to make the rares time-gated like the boss chest rares

Not a precursor, but got this from a rank chest hitting level 76. Nice to get an ascended instead of a green for once, but yeah….magic find.

opened 25 chest, all had 5 badges and a siege blue print (3 superior prints, rest normal). Most had greens but also 5 exotics and 5 rares, no precursor tho

1 ascended ring (that i didnt need, and cant sell)

The time it takes to get 8 chests in PvE (you can get * a lot* more then just 8 btw) you will have earned maybe 1 chest in WvW. Maybe.

Yeah, I am won 8 precursors(greens) too, the game is so easy now that I stop to play.

And yet you can only get that guaranteed rare once per day, while in WvW you can get more or less unlimited chests if you find a good place to farm WXP.

Indeed, if you are lucky and find a situation where all the bosses spawn just after each other. You can easily get 1-2 ranks per hour in WvW on an active server.

I am fine with the chest as it is. If you gain levels regularly, you end up getting a nice sum of gold from just wvwing regularly.

You are welcome to come and play in the EU T9 trash tier. I would love to see how many levels you can make in day before getting totally frustrated with it.

That sounds like a personal problem my friend. Change servers if you don’t like your tier.

I definitely would like to see the reward quality increased in the WvW chests. Right now, its not really worth much.

unfortunately i cannot supply any proof that this did actually drop, however just passing through to finish up some of the daily attachments i leveld up from rank 5 to rank 6.

i received an ascended ring from the bonus chest, so i grant myself as beyond lucky because that was the first rank chest that i have ever opened. i did not take a screen shot at the time, however the attachment below is the aftermath.

~200 chests, one ascended ring, some exotics, no precursor.

And I know people with ~400 chests and about the same result.

130 chest on my thief, all garbage, and about 40 on alts with even more garbage.
