i’ve seen few post about NA primetime, EU primetime, Oceanic primetime, and even servers advertising to have coverage for certain areas primetime.

so what is your definition of primetime ? at what hours (refer to your local time pls) ?

When most people I talk to in person refer to prime time they are mostly talking say 7pm-1 or 2am ish. I am NA eastern time

Introduced as a network broadcasting term, prime-time refers to the period of time with the highest concurrent audience. Typically this is weeknights from 8pm to 11pm local time. These are the most valuable advertising slots and accordingly are home to the most popular TV shows.

Because America has three time zones that span a three hour gap, the NA prime-time for MMOs is usually understood to mean weeknights from 5pm PST to 11pm PST.

Prime time to me is 7pm to 11pm for where ever you live. I am UK so GMT so the Euros Prime time for me would be 6pm to 10pm for them as they are 1 hour ahead of me.

I tend to take a screenshot of themap we are in and score each night at 9pm-10pm and look at it and go that is how well we did and the server as whole did against those server when everyone is on.

What happens outwith these hours, meh not really relevent to us we are old, work, wife kids, so not really bothered what happens when we are not there and certainly not going to kill ourselves or end up divorced over it, just let WvW rankings match us up with a similair populated server and enjoy.

Personally I’d say its 6pm-11pm, with the peak between 7pm and 10pm, in whatever timezone you happen to be.

CET or GMT +1 is 1 hour ahead okitten, so when it’s 7pm there, it’s 8 pm here (here being CET).

That being said our primetime lasts around 21:00 till 02:00 CET

Prime is 6 PM til 11 PM local time.

Oceanic prime is 11 PM till 4 AM pst. European prime is 10 AM till 3 PM pst.

Doh!, also why in guild I just use GMT times and all references to mainland time are just “silly euro time”

Edit – Hang on I was right I am saying the Euros are 1 hour ahead so for me thier prime time is 6pm to 10pm my time, which is ofc 7pm to 11pm their time. oh my head hurts.

Primetime is when the most people are on in the timezone that the server is located in.

So an American server has a Primetime of NA times. Same goes for EU/Oceanic/whatever.

Guilds that xfer to other servers outside their primetime to “Dominate” in PvP are terrible PvP Guilds. <— This unfortunately was permitted by the Dev team and we are stuck w/ it.

Personally I would not have allowed cross timezone play in WvW, or I would have set up the scoring a HECK of a lot different if it were allowed.

As it stands now PvDoor >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Organized Skilled PvP.

That is wrong IMHO and needs to change.

ah, so i can safely conclude primetime usually refer to around 6pm-11pm wherever you live… thanks.

My definition of primetime is whenever all 3 worlds have nearly full WvW. A good example of prime time at its prime-est would be when WvW resets and all maps are full for the first few hours.
