So just wondering what are the priorities in WvW? Which map is more important? I saw someone in chat say it was Own Borderland >= EB > Enemy Borderlands, is this true?

Or does the big guilds determine what the priorities are?

WvW is dynamic. Which is more important depends entirely on the situation and position you’re in at the time.

You should go for whatever gets you the most points.
If that means attacking an enemy Keep, attack an enemy keep.
If attacking an enemy keep will make you lose your keep, it’s probably not worth it, since losing the upgrades on your keep benefits both enemy servers, but taking an enemy keep benefits you and an enemy (since it will not be upgraded, making it easier for them to attack).

In terms of map priority, Your third of EB is worth 75 points, with a 35 point bonus if you hold Stonemist (110 total) and your borderlands are worth 145. In a points per tick sense, Borderlands are more important than EB, if you were to maintain your “expected” towers. Pushing far into either enemy side of EB also leads to vulnerability on your own structures since all three are placed in close proximity, and time spent running back to a tower from an enemy area is time spent not capping things. In Borderlands, more often than not, a single server will be attacking, not two. Which allows you to focus your efforts.

Well your corner in EB = +75 ppt. If you can hold your whole home BL = +145 ppt. Chances are you will be able to hold your top 2 towers and keep. which is 45 ppt, then another 15 for the 3 northern camps which is a total of 60ppt. Then you can treb bay from your home keep which means you should be able to hold bay most of the time. which is another 25 points. So that’s +85 ppt that should be fairly easy to hold. Not counting any 5man havoc teams you could be running to flip the bottom 3 camps.

So you see why your home BL “can” be better to hold. Holding SM in EB would bring your PPT up to 110 but then you are more than likely going to get double teamed which will cause you to lose your camps and probably your center towers off and on.

Also EB upgrades insanely fast. Which means if everything does get flipped it is a fairly fast rebuild. Yaks are much more likely to get stopped on your home BL than on EB.

You should always try to have the north area of your own BL and the corner of EBG.
