If you look at the points inT8 and the top server SF is around 250 points to T7 which creates a big problem. There has to be a huge blowout for a couple of weeks to move up. We might as well become best friends in T8 because moving 12 points a week we will be together for the next year if SF wins everytime. Anet you need to make a bottom point and a top point. If you look at ALL the other tiers at most they are around 75 points difference however most of them are only about 30 points (or less) away from the next tier.
The big problem? Look at DR and Kain they grew so large in T8 because of the point difference between T7 and T8 look at them now (not so much DR now because a lot left but you get what I mean as they were moving up). Not only does it create issues at the bottom you see the blowouts as they move up and up and up which causes issues of its own.
Please fix this Anet thank you….
Also let me add one more thing. With free transfers going away and making it cheaper to transfer to a lower tier server (if that is the case) then you will have many more “DR/Kain” servers on the up and up.

its a problem with every tier, though it may seem worse in T8.
the math behind their rating system seems a little wonky.
look at SOR in T2 last week.. they had a huge blowout and still didn’t move up with almost double 2nd place and triple 3rd place. And the server above them lost by 50-60k.
its just the way it is everywhere. Arenanet for some reason doesn’t see a problem.
Ok look at the point difference between T1 and T2 ONLY 8 points (to move up)! There is 242 points difference between T7 and T8 HUGE difference
And a few weeks ago the point difference between T7 and T8 was only 8 points.
If you want to argue the problem is only with T8 and not systematic then I see no reason to further your cause, best of luck!
Fivekiller the reason it was such a close point difference is because SF had just moved to T8 from T7. That match was one of the closest matches I have fought in T8 and they as a server lost around 150 or 200 points to drop down to our lower level of points. Any server that drops from T7 to T8 will drop 200 points to get down to the other 2 servers.
That is why Kain and DR got so big because the only way for them to get out of T8 was to blow us out of the water over for a couple of weeks. As you see where are they now? Not in T7 and they (DR not anymore) are jumping whole tiers in a week that is the problem.
its either go up 12 points a week which would take 6 months (literally, and thats if they keep winning each week at the same pace and don’t lose) or blow us out of the water which takes about 2 months or so with the transfers slowly building up to a large zerg status to have enough to just dominate us and then shoot up the tiers. I bet the T8 servers would put up a good fight against the T7 servers but we will never know unless a server gets enough transfers to just blow us out of the water and then they just shoot past T7 and T6 and even T5. Kain will also jump to level 3 next week as well.
I’m not saying that T8 is the only one having problems with the score fivekiller but IF they are going to keep this same point/score system in place something needs to be done to fix the 200 point difference in the bottom T8.

This is very true.
yep, any of the 3 tier 8 servers would have to hold 650+ ppt the whole week for 2-4 weeks in order to move up to tier 7. that aint happening.
If a server in tier 7 loses consistently then they will also move down to close the gap. Right now Gates of Madness and Sorrow’s Furnace are 240 points apart and already on Sunday the gap is closing by 70 points.
