Professions - Roles and Difficulty
I don’t think you’ll find a profession in a zerg that can influence the battle more than an elementalist. You got at least as much CC, support, damage as anyone else.
The feeling of lack of agency or impact is why I avoid following commander zergs. I just don’t feel at all tested.
Also a staff ele. I enjoy playing support and defense in WvW. Since most people don’t seem to like support roles, I feel like I can contribute something unique to the team as an ele. I can bring patience, healing, a bit of humility and a lot of defensive siege.
Warrior with Warbanner. Nothing feels cooler than rez’ing 5 of your downed comrades at once.
Eles can do that too with Glyph of Renewal.

Not even close to as good though. Battle Standard brings up downed allies, brings back NPCs from the dead (allowing a single warrior to keep a circle up) and after all that for a full minute buffs anything near it with Fury, Might and Swiftness.
Put a pack of these together with some guardians and instant skill group emerges.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
Kinda hard to say what class is hard or easy to play. I think it is quite subjective. About cookie cutter roles this comes in mind:
Warrior – The workhorse of a big or smallish www-group. Good damage, good survivability, AoE-heals and condiremovals + the banner. Good for leading.
Guardian – The second workhorse of a group. Good survivability while giving lots of boons. Good CC from Staff and Hammer. Latter has a reliable and fast blast finisher. Good for leading.
Necro – The AoE DPS -dispenser. Decent in almost everything www-related. Lacks a bit mobility. This one gives you the lootbags and takes away enemy boons.
Ranger – Long range AoE DPS or Havoc. Good group support from an waterfield, but overall weak in large scale www because of class mechanic (pet dies fast).
Thief – Scout/Havoc and enemy light class assassin. Also good for solo play. Fast blast finisher, access to stealth and good movement in and out of combat.
Mesmer – Group support and Havoc. Good solo duelist. Group support relies on using veil and nullfield. Portal occasionally. Lacks decent AoE-damage, but has access to pulls/pushes.
Engi – Nades and Bombs give good AoE pressure. Good access to stability. Good duelist.
Eles – Massive AoE CC, damage and heals. Can be extremely squishy. Staff eles are extremely important in large scale battles. Not really good duelits or scouts.
Desolation
If by impact you mean largish upfront damage, Go warrior, their role in the gorup is very large even if the current meta is HammerStun warriors. There is actually quite a few other roles they can fill and you are up front in the action. The same can be said about Guardians who spec a bit more offensively than defensive.
But staff ele’s make huge impact in any large group fights, especially since there is a lack of them. Nearly every roll call starts with how many staff ele’s we have, Hammerstun is assumed to have and if we have none, it actually doesn’t change how people run at all.
can i know the trait, and armor set for hammer warrior?
Don’t go warrior, there are too many of them already.
Your staff ele is great support. Most run 0/0/10/30/30 for support. The build is probably in the Ele section.

What?
I cry a little when I read post like this. Try some other weapon sets as ele and don’t stick with a zerg all the time.

If I wanted to play melee or mid-range, I wouldn’t play my Ele. For me, the only reason to play Ele is long range casting and control, for which staff is the only option. If ANet wants to give Eles another 1200-range weapon, I’ll gladly try it.

Along with Johje’s suggestion, you can get almost as much support out of a 0/30/0/20/20 build, and you’ll do noticeably more damage. Just another option, depending on what you’re looking for.

Ill talk a bit about the 2 classes I play
Necro (codi)- aoe dps, aoe condi application/removal, aoe boon removal
I use my necro to disable and dismantle the enemy while the rest or my group finished them. I use Blinds/chills/fears and cripple to disable the enemy. I use corrupt boon or well of corruption to dismantle boon reliant classes.
Thief - the Ultimate assassin. We are the masters of stealth and single target burst. Target the squishy Burst him down and if possible get the stomp off, if not them back away a bit and bring down their downed hp with SB. we are the Blast finisher kings/queens with SB.
