Proper Positioning in GW2
It does seem to take a lot of skill. It’s something PUGs can’t seem to get right vs an organized group.
The thing is noone wants to die first, so PUGs don’t like to stack on commanders oftentimes especially when they know they’ll be the first to die.
If it were that easy, huge zergs would be unbeatable. As it is large skill groups routinely beat big zergs. Make a mistake against a group like Agg and… bam… everyone is dead. Even when a zerg overpowers these skill groups the skill groups often rise back from the dead and deliver defeat.
There are a lot of tactics in open field combat beyond stacking. People do like to skip over that fact to make some sort of irrelevant point though.

Convent I don’t know what YOU are playing but all the things you post are used in every good Zerg fight.
A good Position is one of the key elements in fighting Zergs.
Crashing the Backline of a PUG will most likely destroy it instant.
Big unorganized blobs are nothing but free Loot if you have one or two Commander who know waht they are doing.
Just recently I have raidet with a “blob” having 2 Commanders one for Melee another for Ranger. The possibilitys with those 2 Groups is amazing and you can most likely destroy every PUG in your way even if you are outnumbered.

1 group of random pugs not stacked on commander will easily be wiped out by a group of coordinated people stacking on the commander.
This does not make stacking commander the most optimal strategy, it is just the simplest effective strategy. I find a shattered/scattered backline with characters specced more for DPS to be more effective than one sync’d PVT ball.
