Guild Wars 2

So check it out. I am strictly a PvE type of player. Tried PvP in many games but just not my cup of tea. Why? I DIED ALL THE TIME.

So I have been playing GW2 since it game out and other than stepping in WvW here and there for dailies I hated it.

Well… Kind of was getting bore killing Teq, Wurms and such and a few months ago went from Power to Condi on Necro. I decided to give WvW another chance. BORING… until I got into a PvP guild that shed some light on the mechanics of WvW, tips of the trade, the forums and the importance of teaming up. I am up to 76 Rank in WvW now and PvP grouping 2-0 (gonna stop there :P).

I guess the point is I have learned to play my toon much better other than yawn SMASH buttons. What works, what doesn’t as far as weapons. When to Staff or duel wield dagger and X and the occasional axe for that scalp of yours.

Personally I have found an added fun to the game and watching these thief hacks (hehe) now raising a roaming thief for that day I cannot find a group to run with.

In groups I find it important not to create a tail the other team can pick off and learning when to front line or stand back and nuke.

1 v 1 is hit or miss for me but once I get some plugins for my gear I’ll be looking for you :P

Welcome to WvW… It’s not really as dead as some people in here would have you believe. Find a good group and just go have fun. Raise your expectations and you’re in trouble..

Better late than never right, glad you’re having fun in WvW, its a mode that just keeps on giving.

Ye starting WvW is very situational on your state of life. I remember running around as pistol engi and finding the gamemode superboring because I was dying and didnt know where to go. I ended quitting the game completely for a year. After I came back, I played on staff ele and stopped dying instantly, so I got some idea. Still it took like 3 days for me to realise what was going on in World vs World, was mostly doing it because I didnt want to do PvE.

Id say it took me 2 weeks or so to actually get why others are playing the gamemode, because that’s when I installed teamspeak and a whole new world opened.

You have a hard road ahead though, because I think all thieves below silver rank, normally get 1 shotted, because they dont know enemy classes completely :P

I’m necroing this week and gave up on condi necro as other classes can output stronger condis than necro.

Running power necro with staff/greatsword. Slightly strange build but then most of mine are, they work for me but others don’t like them/can’t play them as they don’t understand situational awareness and why I run what I run.

H0T is essential for most builds in wvw these days, the power creep and utilities are essential for a decent necro.
