Anet has the ability to adjust skills for pve, pvp, and wvw and has done so. The mechanics for all three are different. Some skills have 3 different versions, one for each game mode.

Do they? I know some have 2 PvP/PvE, but not 3.

No!

Power based damage is calculated from

power
coefficient
armor

Stats affect only power and armor.

A coefficient change affects the balancing regardless which stats you have.

For condition damage the math is a bit different. Replace:

power > condi damage
coefficient > number of condi stacks
armor > vitality

so the conclusion is (almost) the same.

ANet typically balances skills by lowering coefficients and stacks in PvP which means the PvE/WvW versions of the skills are stronger.

What does this even have to do with anything?

My point was that if Anet says well condi chrono isnt used so much in sPvP so we have buffed that spec plus its skills and you argue that these sPvP changes go hand in hand with current WvW armor stats and gameplay design then GG I’m out because my brain just blew up.

People banging on about stats are funny, balance changes to PvP or PvE rarely make sense in WvW because they are totally different game modes, that PvP uses different stats and PvE uses similar are really neither here nor there, which is why balance in WvW has always been pretty much non-existent, because they basically don’t balance for it.

I’d rather we see WvW skills for WvW, because while Anet balances for sPvP, which is 5v5, with most engagements as 3v3 or less, and PvE is limited to a max of 10, WvW has a max of whatever the map cap is which is currently around 80.

Also what you don’t see for WvW is modifying skills and skill effects to reduce lag, one of the issues WvW has had, like population balance, FROM THE BEGINNING OF GW2.

It seems like the only things that the devs are active about in WvW is tweaking scoring numbers, tweaking linked servers, tweaking locked servers, and limiting the use of tonics.

Balance in WvW is in a really akward place right now. Everything feels half-done and inconsistent.
It seems like a no-brainer to me to include balance changes in WvW and guild halls, but it’s probably against their philosophy. Someone might die against the Veteran Warg with their pvp skills.

I see so many great suggestions here and on reddit, but they are still working on things they polled months ago. Take your time, scoring and rewards are not an easy topic, but for the love of god realize that there are other smaller tasks you can do in between …

There’s been years, YEARS of great suggestions on WvW but if they don’t get read…..or if Anet doesn’t allocate enough resources you are only left with what can be done by the few that can do it.

WvW is not and has not been treated like it’s core to GW2.

Anet has lowered my expectations concerning improving WvW and they have continued to not meet my expectations.

I consider it my fault for suggesting improvements that are above Anet’s ability, like when you first try to teach a two year old to hit a baseball. Instead of throwing the ball in the strike zone, you throw the ball where they are likely to swing the bat.
