This is NOT a post about which BL is best – we already know which from all the other discussions.

What’s new is that the Desert BL and Alpine BLs have been in play together, and for me a key question is how well does Anet think this works. By now they will have some data about player populations, captures, queues, server loading.

I suspect someone more skilled than me could sift through the API data and help Anet answer my question, but until someone capable is able to help I’d be really interested to know, in general terms, whether the metrics so far indicate a reasonable equivalence between the border land designs.

Arena Net don’t give away this kind of data, so forget it about them answering this question.

All I know is this is at the moment, Saturday primetime. I have two accounts on two separate T1 servers currently. One has a 35 player queue for EBG and 5 on green. The other has no queue at all.

And earlier this week on both Monday & Tuesday, no queue on red either. Just in case people want to compare weekdays vs weekends.

Honestly I don’t think how DBL has no queue is a surprise, as people have already lost interest in it (which lasted for maybe a week or two tops). The sad part is that in T1 there aren’t even many queued maps on weekends 1 day after reset. G to the G Anet.

So when it’s summer time, folks are busy out basking under the sun and vacationing. When it’s after summer, folks are busy going back to school. The trend is what it is, WvW is in a sad state no excuses can make up for it. Seasonal changes have little to do with whether people have fun in a game or not. Bottom line is if people are really having fun, they’ll spend more time ingame than elsewhere.

On the subject of DBL, it’s really not surprising hype died down a bit. When it got put back into rotation, people played on it for a bit because it was new*er*. But even that didn’t last long.

Eh it’s usually the beach is the reason in EU during the summer. Our gaming nerds are tanned.
