Question: Is anti-farm code implemented in WvWvW??!!??
Well, since the anti-farm code’s not officially confirmed, just obvious from empirical data…
In my experience though, it does affect WvW. Usually not noticeable unless you’re in big, prolonged fights though. For example, when my server was dominating eternal battlegrounds last round, we pushed an enemy server back to their spawn and set up about 12 ballistas… shameful, I know, but I got about 10 badges within the first minute. It started to trickle down from there until I wasn’t even getting a loot bag more than once every 10-20 kills. Same thing with a big siege on our Borderlands, defending the Bay keep. Was on cannons/arrow carts most of the time and was getting a ton of badges… then a trickle… then nothing.
Anti farming code in pvp is silly. If its there it needs to be removed.
It’s there and it’s really sad, I have 650 kills in WvW and 140 badges because I usually play WvW for 5-10 hours straight when I play it. Other people thay play for an hour or two per day have double the number of badges that I have with half the kills

I know a couple of people that have 250~ with 400 kills :/
Anyway, back on topic I think it is quite obvious that the anti-farm code takes effect even from WvW kills, quite dissapointing to say the least, no idea why this is, maybe I’d agree for PvE and that whole inflation reasoning, but WvW kills?
If it is indeed in place that is just pathetic.

The answer is a resounding NO!!
I like how the current system actually punishes you for spending more time in WvW fighting for your server. GREAT way to boost server culture and community.
On the plus side… it’s a horribly implemented, completely illogical way to reduce queue times.
I honestly just want someone from ANET to tell me where or what I am supposed to do in this game to have fun and not feel like I am grinding for no reward at all.
Now let me be clear, Fighting other players in Wv3 is fun to a point, but the reality is with the anonymity in Wv3 and now the lack of any real personal reward Wv3 is going to get old and boring really fast.
I can’t make a name for myself and my bags are way to small to carry all to porous bones and claws that seem to drop even off of other players.
Not to mention the fact that the way maps are designed, and the fact that I have this GIGANTIC RED TEXT above players heads at all time to encourage nothing but zerg fests.
You can’t ambush anyone because they see you from a mile a way. I.E. I can’t hide behind a tree or rock or terrain or even in the character creation screen.
And sadly enough the only ambush is if of course you are part of a zerg and you run as fast as you can into the enemy zerg to ensure you haven’t loaded on their screen until they are in a downed state. Yes, don’t kid yourself it’s a tactic being employed by a lot of servers.
I can’t farm because OMG gold in the system!! I can’t run dungeons because OMG to many tokens! I can’t Wv3 because OMG to many BOH!!
So ANET tell me what am I supposed to do, set in LA and play the TP market? Some people enjoy that, I do not and I would venture to say 90% of the player base doesn’t.

Make badges auto loot into your inventory upon a kill and I will happily accept an anti-farming code. Trying to track down all your bags after busting a zerg = not fun.
As far as I know, nothing has changed and player kills in WvW should not be affected by any sort of diminishing returns.
The past few days I’ve seemed to get a really low number of badges (sometimes playing for hours without getting any!), but last night it seemed to get better.
If 1 badge is supposed to be roughly equivalent to 1s, the drop rate needs to be drastically improved. It doesn’t help that bags can often be left behind, sometimes accidentally and sometimes because you died before you could pick it up.
Perhaps the drop rate could scale up based on how far behind the top score you are?

I agree, there needs to be a change to how badges drop…Right now it is god awful, and really only rewards people for killing blows and not much else. Is there a reason badges aren’t awarded for events in pvp? I seems silly to me that we pretty much get pve (karma) rewards for pvp/wvw events. I feel that they should drop the karma and give badges instead, doesn’t have to be a lot, but anything is better than what it is now. Spent 3-4 hours last night in EB and not a single badge.

My anecdotal data seems to indicate that I get more badges when I first come into RvR and it gets less and less as the night goes on.
Could just be bad luck (on drops for badges) but I make money faster than badges (events) in RvR and can craft gear a heck of a lot sooner than buying gear with badges.

Everyone I speak to in WvW noticed a strong decrease in the amount of badges that are dropping, since a few patches ago. I’m not sure which patch, but it might have been the one where the first loot changes got added.
It’s not a question of if it got reduced or not, that is for certain. The question is, will this be undone? Right now everyone is doing jumping puzzles and trying to burn down holding lords as those two methods are the only real way of obtaining badges now.
The problem is that badges not only provide (extremely expensive) WvW gear, they also make playing WvW exclusively without PvE farming slightly more managable as you could buy blueprints with them. With a reduced droprate, I have the need to buy blueprints with gold, and since I don’t like to farm a day of PvE so I can do a day of WvW, I feel slightly forced to start using the item shop to stay floating in terms of money, or, alternatively, contribute a lot less to my server like the other gate-auto-attack-only-crowd.
This should be looked into, along with the amount of silver you earn in WvW. Perhaps make holding upgrades cost badges instead of silver, and still increase badge drop rates to higher than ‘pre-nerf’ (let’s just call it that for now).

yes money and karma does flows normal as we capture places and everything but the badges is just ridiculously low drop rate. the only thing that drop a lot is claws that worth 2 copper.
The other HUGE issue here is the loot bag system. If I am pushing through an enemy Im not going to take my time and stop for my loot bag to generate so I can grab it. The loot either needs to fall instantly and not take an extra second or so… or better yet – Just add the loot into my inventory! Its a joke that those who are hurting their server by ‘farming’ kills and getting loot are rewarded while those of us who are in constant movement of battle suffer because we are out of loot grabbing area by the time the loot is there.
Fix this.

Yeah I am not sure if it is diminishing returns or if it is just a terrible drop rate. Just took my Ranger into Wv3. Note this is a different character than I normally run Wv3 with and at least 10 1v1’s that resulted in not a single BOH drop.
At this rate it is just better to go to each boderland and run jump puzzles for BOH…which personally I find lame that pve content gives a BOH.
Its a little frustrating to say the least.

Can you check if its working as intended? I am pretty sure I am getting less and less the longer I stay in WvW, especially in long sieges if I get 50+ kills with the same siege weapon in a row it feels like I am gradually getting less. (I always leave the siege when a lootbag appears next to the siege)
no its just bug ridden loot credit seems to only go out to so many peopl e and if someone hasnt died for awhile and been in alot of combat odds are all the loot credit slots were tooken up and those peopl e are off the radar to receive those loot bags so it just goes to no one also there are things like warrior downed state #3 ability that bug out loot bags and downed state in general seems to be a bit buggy with the system
if it happened with a patch that did stuff to the loot system it could be a unintended effect, but i feel i get them very much at random, some times i get them often and lot like 2-3 bags defending one wall, other times i get no bags then i might get a few more in another zerg clash out in the open.
Could just be a a miss in the code from another change, it happens.

This! Make the lootbag pop into my inventory instead, a lot of the time stopping to loot means death. And have a look at the droprate of badges, something seems off compared to the effort of getting other armorsets.

Exact opposite happend to me last night. I literally got 0 badges the first 3 hours I played, while trying to be useful to the team.
Then I just said F-it and started just trying to kill as many idiots as possible. I got about 10 badges in the next hour.

I’m pretty sure PvP loot is really screwed regardless. As in majority of the credit comes from downed players and not downing them in the first place.
Over 4,000 WvW kills and only 700ish badges, it’s too low of a drop rate for those only leveling and gearing out in WvW imo.
Yes, I have noticed many times when using siege equipment that after I kill enough people in a short enough time I completely stop getting bags.

I personally would really like it if the whole reward scheme for WvWvW got an overhaul. It takes much less time and effort to get sets of exotic gear through PvE, either by running explorables, crafting or buying them off the Trading Post. If it were feasible to get gear from Badges of Honor, I’d be stoked.
