Why are servers ranked by their WvW Performance?

there is PvE, sPvP and WvW.
not all servers are wvw-oriented, some are more into PvE and others sPvP, if the servers were ranked by sPvP then I doubt SoR, BG, and JQ would be at the top.

I think there should be some kind of system that rewards the whole server for their Overall performance this includes PvE, sPvP and WvW.

SoR/JQ/BG would dominate the WvW rankings, but they would lack sPvP and PvE points therefore I think they would be at the bottom of the Overall rankings.
Anvil Rock for example would Lack the wvw covarage but would probably dominate the sPvP rankings, and who knows maybe Eredon Terrace/Ferguson’s Crossing are big PvE servers and would probably dominate the PvE rankings.

I think the server that has a little bit of everything would come out on top, not just a server that is wvw-oriented.
of course it all comes down to server population but, can a server that is wvw-oriented have a PvE/sPvP community that is bigger than another whole server that is PvE/sPvP oriented?

yeah, and because of this we know who is #1 in wvw, but what server is #1 in sPvP?
if we knew what server was #1 in sPvP, dont you think there would be people who would want to migrate to that server and battle the best sPvP players in the game?

All servers, within their zone (i.e. NA and EU) take part in the same sPvP pool.

As for PvE, there is guesting.

The only thing that really matters is WvW in this regard.

WvW has rankings so that matchups can be created. Any other server-wide rankings would be pretty useless. You already spvp against the entire game population, and can guest wherever you want for pve. This would just be an exercise in measuring kittens.

Ranking servers on WvW performance is neccesary to get fair WvW matchups.

Ranking servers on sPvP or PvE performance is not neccesary for anything other than stroking egos.

The answer to that is because server rankings are a WvW metric nothing more.

@OP. I think you are asking your question in the wrong forum. WvW needs its own set of rankings for matchup purposes.

If you want a server rank for PvP, it’s better to post that suggestion there.
