No more white swords means you won’t be able to tell if a camp/tower is under attack, but what about keeps and SMC? These may have waypoints that become contested if attacked. Is ANet going to change how the waypoints work, or will they leave this “beacon” intact?

Waypoint won’t change you just can’t use it. Not sure if it will show that you cant use it or not.
I think the swords will be lost from there to.

these pessimistic replies are not needed. you waypoint keeps, most servers have people stationed in keeps who queue upgrades, and place and refresh siege. they are the ones who will call out incs and throw disablers when the keep is attacked.

These deluded posts are not needed. Most servers are desolate two hours on either side of primetime (true all the way up to and including T3).

Unless you’re the server that’s smashing the other two, no one is going to upgrade knowing at any moment, with zero warning, the tower will flip.

They must want people to stack gold tier, and only run in blobs.

Just because you might lose a keep do to inattention to it, doesn’t mean other skilled and organised teams will.

Skilled and organised?

“You- wait what? You don’t want to stand a camp doing nothing? What’s wrong with you!”

There’s nothing skillful about babysitting a camp, sure it requires a bit of organisation, but 99.9% of people aren’t gonna want to do it. Let’s see how this thing rolls out, but I’m pretty sure I know exactly how it’s gonna be received.

I do those things already. We have a rotation schedule of 1/4 of an hour and folks rotate in and out of scouting.

You may not think so. But I think training together as a team so that we can beat larger forces is rather skill full. I feel the roaming videos I have posted, of my solo skills qualify me as skilled on a personal level as well.. Need a link to our website chalk full of videos as evidence?

I feel coordinating a rotation for scouting, and only asking for volunteers (never trying to presume to require anyone to do anything) to a level that white sword have been irrelevant in the first place, is rather organized.

I could list a fair bit of things that I find very organized of WvW guilds. Seeing as you phrased it in the form of a question, should I believe those in your circles are not skilled or organized? I feel your tone in the post is that of disbelief. Might I suggest that assuming what are limitation to you personally, do not apply to others.

Even when my server was dead last of NA ladder we would still be able to get WPs on our keeps. Even when we had ZERO chance of winning people would still upgrade and siege up the keep because they would be around to take care of it as necessary.

These places will flip once the person that was taking care of it leave? Yes, most likely. But it’s not like it doesn’t happen already even with white swords.

To the OP: I belive WP’s still will get contested as soon the defense event come up (It already happen in the 30s the white swords aren’t up). Otherwise you would just be able to keep going back via the uncontested wp and doing graveyard zerg on your enemy until you wipe them or the keep flip.
