On lower tier servers, you can notice empty maps.. and if you find enemy once in never, they will surely kill you with their zerg…

Also, there is no living soul in WvW nor 70% servers play WvW.

Reason?

Maps are way too big and population is mostly too low for such feature… so yeah, RIP WvW…

Nobody knows what’s happening with WvW. It’s been years, it’s the first thing people mentioned in the CDI and they haven’t done any noticeable improvement.
It’s like they are completely clueless about how to organize a good server system.

Truth is it really shouldn’t be that complicated, they have megaservers for all the other gamemodes after all, all the population distribution is virtual. We could have balanced WvW tomorrow if they had the courage to look at the PvP server system of ESO. Zenimax found the solution and they just have to make an identical system to save WvW.

How come 3 years after GW2’s release I can’t play WvW with/agains’t 75% of my friends because they are all on different server? How pathetic is that for a MMO when you can’t even play with your friends without taking 20$ out of your credit card to try to transfer to servers that are listed full. That is even if people only play on 25% of the max population capacity of that tier at peak times?

Making new maps is a good thing, but if you don’t even have a core system that half-works then you won’t have people to play on these new maps. Which is what exactly is happening to the new Borderland map. You have 24 copies of a map spread over 8 tiers when only 3 copies of it could hold the entire WvW population at peak time. Someone just didn’t do the math.

Then they have supposedly a “overhaul” they have been working on for over a year, yet the expansion releases with a WvW world map background image that hasn’t even been updated to accomodate the Desert BL maps. Makes it seems really amateurish.

Borders are getting fuller here. Where we started with empty maps, there is more activity now. I wouldn’t say that crowded as in old maps, but at least there is more activity

ArenaNet has mentioned recently they’ve been working on a WvW overhaul for the past year. They also said on January 12 and later they’ll start giving us some info on upcoming changes to the game. I’m hoping some of the upcoming news will have some info on WvW. So just hang tight folks.

This must not be a good sign. They have also thought the new Map would be great in all streams everyone was saying awesome and stuff and what did we get? Yes empty Maps.

Everytime A-Net annouced something you need to worry

I am finding more and more groups on BL servers as people get used to the Borlerlands and are better able to find their way around. This even late at night and I am not on a top tier server.

The more i Play the BLS the more I like it.

Over the past few nights I have had some fun fights in the oasis events. No 60 man blobs here….15 a side Maybe fighting over those cores. Its fun.

Now just as in Pve when you come to an empty TD map there can be emptiness but when you get the people the maps are fine.

Which you probably won’t be able to get, until you use your credit card to get that 400gold for core item, or super rare mats only available in expansion – for which you must pay extra 50 bucks

In my server i see tons of nothing with lots of no one and the occasional roamer… dolly…
Well there was this one rare time a player attacked me…

I can still visualize the old borderland map in my head. I miss it. This new one gives me a headache.

Really? I see loads of people whenever I log into WvW. Not sure where everyone is at when you say you are seeing no one. I see lots.

I’m lost do you guys want people to be allowed to transfer and balance out servers that are still active or are you saying that if even 1 server is dead then we should just declare game over?

The way i took it….the OP was saying revert the maps back in hopes of bringing back people that left (which affects lower tiers more) and if people don’t come back, merge some lower tier servers.

Reverting back to Alpine bl will not help the overall state of wvw. It would make some of the older players happy until they realize that the same problems exist. Then they will leave again. Do not expect a miracle anytime soon. Just take a brake from wvw and check the gw2 news every friday for info on the WvW resurgence. X-com 2 is coming out this weekend too.

I think they abandoned the CDI. There were several CDI that never came in the end.

This^^ T1 isn’t in great shape. People play EB and try to avoid the BL maps

Well this is the case and if anet haven’t seen this yet i feel terrible sorry for a good game and a perfect game-mode before they ruined it.
Dont forget to sign my thread below guys if u want old maps back.

It’s not about maps. It’s about people. Just split up. Find some friends, make a guild, and go out just by yourselves and not with a brainless zerg.
Try to become better players, try to learn team fight and pass the 1 1 1 1.

It’s not about the people – it’s the map, the new mechanics. It isn’t fun. Period! Lower tiers are just about empty. Higher tiers, well…it’s a blobfest, k-train (mostly in EB). Even T1 in NA isn’t in great shape.

Honestly, I don’t know how WvW is like for EU right now, but for NA, it’s currently a mess.

Yes and what makes killing others hard?
1) Pirate ship, 2) botched balance, 3) map design, 4) coverage issues

You can have as many friends as you like, still wvw is more frustrating than fun – at least for me and probably for a lot of others.

I’m on Vabbi (EU) and we are currently in T9, our whole community died over the last few months (even before HoT came out) because all our guilds moved. I used to love wvw, but right now I hate it. I do not want to spend gold again to transfer to other servers which are a big mess as well, I miss the old days.

So that the thing it dose not sound like you hate wvw you hate that other ppl have moved on you and your unwilling to move with. I think this is the problem with a lot of ppl are having with wvw is that other ppl are moving but you cant control that at all. Wvw is easier to call that the problem then ppl you know and may like moving on you your real problem.
Ppl move go to different school etc.. that part of life and there is nothing you can do to truly control that. Best to find happiness with what and who you can and not try to keep up with the “Joneses.”

If someone gave me a buck each time muttered “I hate this kittening pve map” under my breath as I play, I could play this game to pay my rent.

What makes anet look so incredibly shady and what gives me such a feeling of ick whenever I think to log on is that they have ruined the wvw community for the most part. And they know it, but they’re still charging the players that are trying to keep it alive for server transfers.

That says everything to me.

I think only for BG and YB, JQ WvW has been pathetic for weeks. I thought last week was bad, but this week? Oh boy…
