How is this even humanly possible? It has only been about 5,800 total hours since Aug 25, 2012 (launch day). 3,500 hours is approximately 60% of every day or 14.5 hours on average, every day, since launch day.

It’s been fun fighting against you guys these last few weeks. I’d say make sure you look into the servers you’re transferring to and find one that could use help during your time slot to maybe balance out a tier. If your guild isn’t enjoying the fights, then it is time to transfer to another server because enjoying games is what playing games is supposed to bring. Good luck in the future and maybe we’ll see each other on the battle field once again.

Take into consideration that they started doing heavy WvW sometime after January and it becomes even more ridiculous.

Who are you addressing? KN lost three weeks in a row when we arrived in T2 against BG. It was till fun. RISE is leaving, as far as I know, because their members want to be in T1. They are not fair-weather. They did a lot for KN.

You can’t really understand why we/they are leaving unless you actually played in Kaineng during NA times for the last 4-6ish weeks. I doubt very many of us fought harder for Kaineng than I did; in the last 3 weeks I probably put ~100 hours into WvW, commanding for probably close to half of it. I left everything I had on the battlefield for Kaineng, and we were losing pretty much every step of the way for the last month. As a result, I’m liable to grind my teeth when people slobber on about “bandwagoning.”

Really, what happened to Kaineng was a failure of server leadership, CO included. Little or no effort was given towards recruiting guilds from lower tiers, and the server’s habit of spawncamping for hours on the way up did not earn Kaineng any friends. Guilds and guild leaders didn’t seem very interested in actually filling the server out, but rather blowing through the tiers as quickly as possible. Kaineng skipped T3 altogether, and entered T2 in the #2 spot if I recall correctly. All things considered, she actually did pretty well, but eventually our NA guilds burnt out. RISE, CO and RE probably represented around 66-75% of Kaineng’s NA regulars, and we started losing PuGs in fair numbers starting the weekend of March 30th. Honestly I think our NA guilds stuck it out about as long as you could reasonably ask. For my part, I started batting about the T-word once I noticed that being outmanned during weekends and NA prime was becoming increasingly common.

Yeah thanks for the link but I actually checked it already. I thought we were 10th not 11th when we jumped 4 spots. I never bothered to check the history, I’ve just heard it said like 9001 times that we skipped T3. I remember a big jump, but I just took their word for it. I wasn’t paying close attention to tiers and server position at the time. A lot of this was going on during my busy season at work, so I wasn’t on quite as much.

I’m glad you guys chose BG. They have an anchor type wvw community that can handle downturns then come back fighting. Community is everything in wvw.

I’ve just spent 10 out of the past 11 weeks fighting KN in T2.

[RISE] always came out to fight, always put in the effort.

They had no control over WM taking the past 2-3 weeks off, or [CO]’s decision to transfer.

Nobody expects talented players to stick with their team when it is Relegated rather than transferring to another Premiership team. I don’t see any difference here. WvW is largely a game of Coverage and Numbers.

[RISE] has the opportunity to fight in T1 and they are choosing to take it. If most people on KN don’t have an issue with it I don’t see why anyone not on their Server should be attacking them over it.

Like I said, my server has lost for 16 weeks in a row and counting. We are just starting to lose outmanned buff in tier 7, but we still have it most of the time. If we could stay loyal and stay in DR despite our losing, why can’t RISE stay in KN after losing 3 times (even though the matches were very balanced…) and getting the outmanned buff once?

Going to go ahead and assume here that you’re native DR. If you are native DR and you don’t mind where your server is, you just don’t care as much about WvW as we do. That’s not a knock on you or anything—I’m just saying we would prefer to be competitive. Once that stopped being the case in Kaineng, players and guilds started to lose interest and flag on the battlefield and there was a snowball effect after our first loss. I tried my best to hold things together through the week NA during most of April, but it just wasn’t enough.

It’s not enough to say “well, we’re outmanned too!” You’re in Tier 7. I imagine there are still zergs there, but none of you have anywhere near the coverage that TC or FA does.

EDIT: Also, I resent the characterization that RISE/CO/RE left Kaineng “as soon as they started losing.” I was out there commanding every freaking day while we were ticking lowest PPT probably 85% of the time for a month, so I don’t want to hear it.

Kaineng has FINALLY hit a huge wall. It’s like a breathe of fresh air. The die hard WvW community of Kaineng has the opportunity to continue growing. But instead, a lot of people jumped ship.

If you don’t want to be the die hard WvW person who has to lead an entire community, then don’t be. No one is asking you to do that, and I don’t think anyone expects it. But don’t cop out and say you want to remain competitive. Admit that you just don’t want to put fourth the amount of effort you’ve had to in these last few weeks in T2. I don’t blame you, I don’t have the time to pull those kinds of shifts either.

Kaineng is still comepetitive, we will rebuild and remain competitive with or without you.

On that note, goodluck wherever you all decide to go. You will be missed.

I know everything will flip in most matches at some point, but spending entire afternoons to flip home BL only to lose everything an hour after I/we logged eventually wore thin. Being regularly outmanned on EB during the weekend was the last straw for me; once I saw that happening I was like “to hell with this.”

I appreciate the well-wishing. Leaving Kaineng leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I’ve just about lost what’s left of my sanity trying to keep us in T2 these last few weeks. Sadly, barring transfers or a huge turnout increase, I don’t think Kaineng will be higher than #3 T2 ever again even if we had stayed. CO and probably RISE feel wasted in T3, and after watching it for the better part of a week I’m itching to command in T1.

(P.S. Wanting to remain competitive as a server and not wanting to treat GW2 as a second job should not be mutually exclusive! I’ve already stated here and elsewhere that burnout was a major factor, so I’m not sure what it is I haven’t “admitted” yet. No, we don’t want to go through that again, and no I’m not shying away from saying that.)

Please read my post more carefully. The phrase “you don’t care about WvW” does not appear in it unless you selectively remove a couple of important words. I didn’t say you don’t care about WvW, I said you probably don’t care about it as much as we do, since you’re not visibly upset about being in T7. I have no desire to play in T7 for four months; if you’re okay with it, that means you don’t place as much of a premium on your server’s performance as I do. I can’t speak for my entire guild, but many of us seem to feel the same. Your mileage seems to vary, but I play to win.

Already covered that in another post. We did skip some spots, but we went from 11th to 7th, not 10th to 5th or 6th like I had thought. I wasn’t paying as close attention to server rank at the time. I wasn’t active in guild/server strategy until mid-late March.

All of us in Kaineng had learn a lot from guilds like WM, CO and Rise. We all became better players. While we lack the numbers, our player base is definitely tier 2 quality. The benefits from these guilds is incalculable. We in Kaineng are grateful to have these guilds fighting alongside us. ^^

I dont stop playing since launch. I Wanted WvW when launched.. but other 4 prime leaders want to hardcore PvE in sorrow furnace.. so I PvE then start WvW in Crystal Desert.

Another very smart person.. people think scores… i think about my guild.. people who brought the guild up, i care for thier enjoyment, if guild not happy, i lose members, if guild happy, guild rise again.

ask TC how much we roleplayed when we had our matches, its just here in T1 there is no one to RP with

I don’t understand all the flak from people we’ve never met. You don’t know us; you haven’t had to run in our boots. So, do what we’ve done and feel what we’ve felt before you climb into your kittening ivory towers and try to judge us. Why is it that the posts from Kaineng have been supportive, while those from other servers have been largely negative? (exceptions being mostly TC, FA, and BG) Reflect on that.

And thank you to those who DO know us for your support. I wish you all the best of luck and well-placed merchants to clean out your full inventories. I (personally) wanted to stay, but I go where the guild goes.

I think it would have to do with the fact those posters have never run a guild, let alone had to deal with their server dying while wanting to do the best thing for your guild and guild mates

As an Officer who has been in you shoes before, and gone through all the ups and downs of transferring servers, just go out have fun with you guild and let them say whatever they want

and dont let those negative posters from other servers paint the servers in a poor light, I very much doubt they speak for their servers but rather they wish they were in a guild which took care of its members like yours have

Because all JQ does is flip everything in their BL and whoever is blue every morning when FOO and Co are on the maps, and youre going to be dealing with that same old routine logging on at NA time and needing to take your stuff back.

And seriously, you cant complain about a lack of competition when your server is coming in third. It’s apparent to everyone that you didn’t like all the competition and you can’t deal with losing, so you all bandwagoned somewhere else. Why not just admit it? You moved to KN cause you thought youd get to T1 and thats where you wanted to play, when they couldnt hack it you left for a T1 server. Quit with the excuses.

I was in RISE during the Crystal Desert chronicles. We were number 1 in WvW against FA and IOJ for a long time. It was good battles. Then FA decided to recruit all of IOJs guilds and this is when server transfer was free. Basically it was crystal desert vs FA and IOJ in one server. We lost miserably. BUT We as RISE said we will try our hardest to overcome and defeat the FA beast…. The first week of losing all of CDs guilds such as KH and others I forget the names, decided to transfer servers and we were mad… Nothing we could do anymore no help so RISE was the last to leave CD .. We had no choice and we joined a server that was tier 8 .. So all you haters just shut the kitten up

Wow someone is really kitten about a guild transfer which has nothing to do with you

It is clear to everyone certain guilds deserve to be in T1- T2, its not the fault of a few if the masses give up or the other servers in their tier get transfers which would push them out, they can only do so much, and anyone who was watching the T2 matchup knew from way back when BG, TC and KN first came together that KN wasnt going to make it to T1, but these guilds enjoyed the fights and continued on, but when people feel like any work they do is wasted the game becomes no longer fun so the option is to try to rally the server (which was tried) get new transfers (again tried) to transfer servers or quit the game

There is no need for guilds to deny the fact that they are part of the bandwagon and there is also no need for people to hate on these guilds.

There is nothing wrong with a WvW wanting guild to change servers to find that “better fight”. Why stay in a server we feel that has become stale or exhausted? Why stay in a server that will drop tiers and no longer be able to fight strong guilds of the upper tiers? Why must we sacrifice our enjoyment just for the sake of server loyalty?

This, it is amazing the judgement from people you flak when you decide to change servers because your current one isn’t working out, it is expected with general human nature. Love those who are helping you, but soon as they decide you’ve had enough and stop helping regardless of what they’ve done for you or your server you become demonised.

As to all those “RiSE is bad” I’de like to point out this weekend what colour was SM most of the time during NA Prime? It was blue, not green, not red. Who was in EB? RiSE was.

RiSE are most welcome on BG, together with MERC, ND, KnT, GoF, ICoa, RUIN, WM, Meow, KOR, ROK, AoI, NOC, Res etc. All these guilds which come from different places and have come together on one server to find a stable WvW community to play on.

Lastly I would say to the “FoO flips everything then they log onto nothing” Interestingly for your information BG ticks 300+ during EU and more recently rivals JQ’s SEA ppt even surpassing it at points.
