Random Color Assignment for Season 2
Random or weekly rotation would be preferable by far. I’ve been sitting on all the components for my juggernaut but have been unable to complete two vistas for the entire season due to the fact that my server has not been green even once. It’s an awful feeling to be so close and yet have nothing to show for your hard work.
The thing is, red is easier to defend than blue or green. It only makes sense to have the weakest server there.
Be careful what you wish for, Anet might just give it to you “HoT”

I don’t see the problem with them not being random, though I think having PvE map completion as a part of WvW as a problem that should not be there. You don’t see map completion on the sPvP maps.
And also map completion is meant to make you explore the world. (WvW is not something you explore, its territory you fight for — and 3 of the maps are absolute replicas with no real point in exploring them)
Either way, just be patient, WvW will go back to normal as of next week (with random colour assignments)

Not really. Sure red side is probably the easiest side to defend, however when the strongest server takes it and holds it, it’s a real pain for the weakest server to get it back.
It would also make it easier because, in EB, green is supposed to be the easiest to attack, and red the hardest to conincide with the old color ranks. But servers changed quite a bit over the period if leagues and right before them, so my server who is tied for 6th in bronze league has been green every single week, defending a more difficult position in EB from larger groups, and having a harder time attacking.
