The most annoying new aspect of the Ranger population increase…. Point Blank Shot, PBS, Longbow Knockback, The Ole Ranger Punt or as it is most commonly known “Who the <bleep> invited the <bleeping> Ranger?”. Please learn to use this skill responsibly if nothing else than to help preserve the mental well being of your fellow melee based players.

Some examples of what not to do:

• Enemy is almost dead and stunned having almost made it into the portal. NEVER punt them into the portal.
• Enemy is being chased by players. Do not punt the player away from the chasers unless you know for certain they are about to activate a mobility skill.
• Supervisor is surrounded by melee getting wailed on, do not punt unless interrupting the heal.
• Do not simply press 1-2-3-4-5 when attacking. Do not activate skills just because they are off cool down. If you don’t know what to do, press 1 and 2 saving 3 and 4 for when you are in trouble.

Responsible Punting is the goal here so don’t be a Poorly Punting Player.

Long post short, I am happy to see Rangers getting some love and making them enjoyable to play in WvW but can we ease up on the Point Blank Shot spam.

Punting is on a downed player. PBS doesnt affect this. Your not meta, nobody still likes you. No this isnt a new fad. Agree with rest of post.

Don’t worry, the bad rangers on the other servers will offset the penalties associated with misuse of Point Blank Shot.

Nah… Ranger were bad for most part. Bad players just make them worse…

I want all the people who are new to Ranger and just playing it because it got buffed to go die in a hole (: It was a great profession in the first place and had plenty of hate despite that. Now it’s only getting more.

Point Blank Shot doesn’t affect downed players… Your issue isn’t with rangers,

Mostly guardians with banish do that

Most LB rangers are new to it and really need to learn how to play properly, beside posting this on forum will do you no good, those people don’t use forums, they are casual players.

You could always whisper that person and mention about this rather than making a topic here as it isn’t going to change a thing. The best case scenario is that the person learns and the worst is that they continue to do it whenever you are around because they don’t like to do anything other people tell them to do. The latter happens surprisingly often.

I blame the pve’rs and those that play guardian. Spam all skills as soon as cooldown in the first case and so bowled over by not just spamming 1 in the second case that they just can’t help themselves. /sarcasm
