Nice post. What I find hard to believe is that some members of your own community would believe this. I’m not a part of your server and never have been, but if somebody told me this I’d ask if they’d been eating paint chips.

Also, a Bengals fan living in the Bay Area? Ouch. The 80’s must have been rough for you. I can relate though. I grew up in San Jose during the same time (I was a teenager in the 80s) but was a Rams fan. No clue why. I think I liked their helmets or something.

I know next to nothing about the situation, and even I would strongly question (putting it nicely) if someone said to me that GSCH were leaving SoR.

It shouldnt even really require an explanation, imo. Just seems.. obvious.

Dont know if this was necessary of a full fledged post. We all know about the trolls out there. We know GSCH and the other guilds are loyal to SoR. We are proud and trusting of our community.

This is the first time that I am hearing about guilds leaving SoR for BG.

This was posted on the server forums as well, I think he just wanted to reiterate them here for anyone that would doubt. Honestly, to even have that question come up means someone is trying to break apart communities. I think we as a collective GW2 community can agree that this is just disgusting in general and should be frowned upon by anyone.

GSCH and SoR are synonymous. They are the heart of this server, and what I believe this server stands for.

Yes, the 80’s were rough. Everyone made a point to tease about how bad the Bengals were. The 90’s people’s opinions changed and they just felt sorry for me. The 2k’s again liked to remind me of how my team likes to get to the point where it counts and fail. By the time they end up wining a superbowl I just might be in the grave, but I will continue to keep on rootin for them. At least if they lose they have nice looking uniforms unlike some teams cough Steelers cough

I just wanted to clear the air. The first time i heard the rumor a few weeks back I laughed and thought it was cute. then last week someone sent me a tell and last night i received an email. I figure it would be best to put it all out on the table so nobody has any questions as to what were doing or where were going. I had to scratch my head at this.

Really? Because asking a question, even legitimately, should just be considered malicious….. Some people don’t know about your server and may be interested if guilds are moving from it just as people have their interests peeked when guilds move from other servers. Only SoR is this defensive over a harmless question. If you were so certain of the foundation on which your community is built do not fret this little stuff.

Well I know there has been rumors on the forums and such about people leaving SOR. However that’s all it is, rumors.

I find it kinda funny people are trying to make it look like SOR is breaking when it isn’t.
SOR is going strong, sticking together, having fun, and slowly growing.

Foggy I think most of it broke out when BG lost 2 guilds, and someone mentioned SOR losing guilds on the forums. However it wasn’t based from any facts, and I think it was done mainly to confuse people. So the best we can do is explain that SOR isnt losing anyone and last time it did was back in T2, when ND left for BG. (I think that was the only time any guild really left SOR since rank 17 even…)

I’m going to assume you read the post, and understand that it wasn’t a question that was asked, but rather a goodbye post. People were assuming that the heart of the server was leaving because of someone spreading rumors. The cross-hairs of my post were set on those spreading the rumors, not those that asked the questions. That is what I was finding malicious and deadly to the GW2 community as a whole. I apologize for my poor wording if you misunderstood.

Not at all! I respect your post and your viewpoint and feel the same. Sadly, it is the vocal minority. I am on friendly terms with several of your commanders and I respect your guild. Didn’t know you weren’t an officer else I would not have asked you to talk to him.

I’d really like to know who is starting this rumor. LOL. It has been brought to my attention that yet again “I’m Leaving Sanctum of Rall with Gaiscioch in tow” much to my surprise. In the past week I’ve been contacted by several among the community asking me why I’m leaving.

If you hear this rumor you don’t have to worry about it. Gaiscioch is not going anywhere. Not then, certainly not now. GSCH is built on honor, integrity, respect and fellowship.

What does it say about our honor when we turn our back on a fallen friend?
What does it say about our integrity when we go back on saying we will never leave?
What kind of respect do we hold for a dear friend of ours when we quit just because we’re not winning?
Where’s the fellowship in committing to a community to just bail when times are tough.

The idea of leaving Sanctum of Rall is against everything Gaiscioch believes in and stands for. I am the ONLY guild leader in Gaiscioch, and am the Founder. I started this 12 years ago. There is no conspiracy to overthrow me and move off shard as I have been also told. I am the only one that has the power to do that and I cherish Roger’s memory, his legacy, and I will NEVER tarnish his memory by abandoning him. To you this may be a game, to me this is the only thing I have left that reminds me of Roger. I won’t let go of that. This is simply not even something I would consider and is quite offensive that someone thinks me a person that would even consider something like that.

I will be on Sanctum of Rall until they close this server. I said it 6 months after launch and I’ll say it again. If you hear someone say GSCH is transferring you can reply that perhaps they’ve sniffed one to many leprechaun farts because we aren’t going anywhere.

Number one, or number none, Sanctum of Rall is my home forever.

Furthermore, I am a HUGE fan of fighting titans. I hate being #1 because you have nobody tougher to face. You can’t learn anything unless you’re fighting someone better than yourself. There’s nothing more memorable than taking down a force twice or even three times your size. When we choose a battleground we go for whichever one we own nothing, the one with outmanned buff is preferred. Dominating our opponents is my nightmare. I like a hard fight, and Sanctum of Rall is in a perfect situation to have hard fights every step of the way.

I don’t care if we’re first place, I care if theres a foe to kill. Dominating your opponents just means they quit and stop fighting. A map completely owned means you have nothing to gain and everything to lose. A map completely lost means you have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Opportunity is at our doorstep and I will continue having the time of my life trying to beat up Blackgate and JQ as long as they’re thrown at us. I like the odds, I like the challenge, and I love the fight.

I didn’t even realize gaisocks was still active, you see the odd one in the zerg, but that is it.

You have to wonder at the state of SoR when threads like these are made.

I saw them claim for buffs and claim for camp upgrades. They still active, and fun battles, but yeah. When sweeping posts come out on the official forums to ‘clarify’ … I assume your trying to reach your broader internal audience who obviously are not listening or paying attention to your own forums.

The rest of us must be just audience members waiting for the final curtain to see how the story ends, and we’ll applause or not. I’d prefer to see strength of perseverance so whatever warranted this posting publicly to inadvertently provide some background into the server history to newer players, yank at the heart and give yourself a niche … still wondering why publicly here unless…

Hexin, if there was an official Sanctum of Rall forum I’d have posted it there. However not everyone on Sanctum of Rall uses, visits, or knows about SanctumofRall.com so my original post was posted here. I amended it in light of the current rumor mill. Check the date when this post was originally posted. Every few months this rumor crops up and starts circulating.

In regards to the comments about the state of Sanctum of Rall above. Is Sanctum of Rall hurting in WvW right now, yes, so you can continue to troll all you like. I’m not denying that fact.

All I’m saying is just because times get tough doesn’t mean Gaiscioch is going anywhere. We’re here to stay as we’ve always been. We are committed to our community and will continue to bring fun events to those that call Sanctum of Rall home.

I figured it was for your internal masses, to settle any random rumors. Like I said, I saw your claims in our matchup last week on keeps and camps.

All server go through ups and downs. But SoR still a force, and actively recruiting so I don’t doubt SoR strength will grow over the coming months.

Server forums generally should be the place to be a receptacle for this type of stuff though. Posting it on the official forums otherwise looks like social engineering, good leaders know how to position themselves in the optimal situation before starting, just stating that. So I commend the write up regardless.
