Ravya… kitten i miss this commander, was hard to wipe when he was on Far Shiverpeaks, tho he had almost whole TT,GH & KALE on him often and made him sucess. This are old lovely maps/times!

We are a multi game group but all of the guild wars 2 videos should be on the alpine map. We are roamers so we won’t be in large groups often xD

Only found an old pic from hills – not really action but yeah, I’m nostalgic today.

The way cata are a lot cheaper you could never hold any thing on the alpine bl a lot of the keeps walls where hit able by one set of cata both outer and inner. Its simply the game has moved on and alpine bl as they where would not work right any more. That being said if they update the alpine bl to fit with the current wvw then i could see them making a come back.

The truth is you cant go back this is just the way of the world.

Added note:
So a far better talk is about how to update alpine borderlands to make them a viable map with the current gw2 game.
Such as adding in lords to the tower and keeps what would they be like?
How do you add in tactavtaion?
Will you keep the orb system or move to shrines if you have shrines how will this effect the keeps?
What will come of centors and the scrip?
Think on these lines.

I moved into a house around 4 years ago. My first week I was standing at my door late at night admiring “wow I own a house” and I saw this thing, crawling on my porch that looked like it was from a horror movie. I seriously thought it was a zombie raccoon. I got my machete (yes, you need this in Oregon, we have forests ya know) and a flashlight. What I found was the most heart breaking thing, a black cat, extremely skinny, his front arms were crooked but he still could use them like someone left him like this, abused him or abandoned him. He immediately came up to me with his rotten breath and started to cuddle. I felt horrible so of course as soon as my fiance came into the picture we just had to bring the little demon cat in. We took him to the vet and the vet was sorta appalled someone did this to him. His arms were broke at some point and they healed crooked, he was a street cat for so long he had a bladder infection destroying his muscles to pee and his organs were messed up. Luckily I play necromancer so I knew my magic credit card would rise up any demon. After weeks of treatment he got better and lived somewhat of a normal life for 2 years, I say somewhat because my fiance and I had to do something called “expressing the bladder daily”. Just put it together people. One day, little Gobo as we named him started having convolutions in his legs and would shake violently. The vet found that he had blood clots forming in his legs and it was time to put him down. This was heart breaking, even though I only knew the little guy for 2 years I grown really attached to him. Hung out with him till his final breath and buried him under the tree in the back yard. That night I was depressed and just hung out in wvw trying to take my mind off it. You know what was great? Friends in wvw, just hanging out with them even though it was a cat, they were just there cheering me up. This is what anet doesn’t get, wvw use to be a little family with close communities. That’s why we care so much, not because of loot and crap, because we have fun moments together and for me like the stories above, just friends to hang out with and cheer you up when you are down about life. There’s more to wvw than just 1111 spamming. It kinda brings people together in a weird way. I took a pic in FABL becuase my pets name was “gobos flight” and the moon looked pretty above Bay. Now I hope I’ve really depressed you all, sorry lol

Plus remember the olden days when you had to camp a half-dead mesmer for hours and hours? I spent 7 hours with this lovely fellow that day.

When I was a noob I was assigned to “Watch bay” which I then did for 11 hours straight.
It was a bit boring.
No enemy showed up.
But when they did our commander came, we had a massive blob fight inner bay and the commander left with the zerg midway because someone tapped/tagged garri.
Good times, right
Yeah, we lost bay but since then I had a special bond to bay, kind of.

This made me cry :,) memories wanna relive

I look at all those pictures and just smile for myself, I hope I will see these maps again – I would even pay to do so.

The game was pretty good at this time

It is not explainable in words how deep HoT cut off WvW.

The game as it was, was fine for us WvWers, yes we wanted some changes…. some “modifications” but man, i am just breathing in and out and watching these old vids and screens and thinking “why the freaking hell they did what they did with hot”…

Its not a change for some “fresh” WvW content.. no … it killed the game mode.

One amazing golem rush at Hills. Going through some old pictures with the old Borderlands makes me yearn for the old maps.. I regret to this day that I didn’t sit on the docks at the bay, watching the tide roll away…

Nostalgia is hitting me hard recently.

I haven’t played Guild Wars 2 since a few weeks before the raid patch, since I lost interest in the game more and more when I felt like ArenaNet’s attention is in the wrong areas.

I’ve been looking through old screenshots, from beta weekends to headstart of the game, and then old WvW screenshots, and it’s a bit sad what it all turned into. The game surely felt like a breeze back then, something so innocent and fun to play.

Pre HoT time during alpine, bay fight:

It has everything- campers sitting at inner with 12-14 ACs, most in lord room and camping choke point. Commander configuring treb shots via mic to the trebers to kill annoying siege. Hero enemies trying to kill our siege.
Lots of effort trying to flip when blob is camping with siege. End result was worth it though.

good old times. You can get a fight/farm easy just by contesting a camp. you run from fight to fight only while randomly running from camp tp camp or hit a tower short.

Problem is… long time ago in a galaxy far far away they said the Alpine bl would come back, but only after they make some design changes… so… it might be quite creepy when it comes back.

Same here, I would like to see them back. I never liked the desert borderlands.
