Reasons to be in a party in WvW
If you’re in the same guild, you get mad guild influence. Best way to earn guild influence in the game.
thats cool and all, but I’m talking about actual gameplay benefits. like as far as i know, boons dont prioritize for party members, right? or heals?
it just seems like there isn’t a real need to join a party
2. You get more loot
3. You can see the health and boons/conditions of people in your party
4. You can react more easily to health changes/boons/conditions on your party or people being downed in your party
Blast!
2. You get more loot
I’m pretty sure this is anecdotal and word-of-mouth-spread. I am pretty confident that this is not actually a thing.
On top of what the others have said: map pinging, drawing, and waypoints. No chat suppression.

There’s nothing.
Just like there’s no real benefit to being in an actual guild in this game.
I thought that your party was prioritized for boons and heals.
Useful for small groups out capping camps and whatnot. Helps you stay together and helps you keep communication up. If for instance you die and have to respawn it makes it easy to find your group again.
Also if you are separated from your group and get into a fight, it’s easy for your group to see this is happening from your status bar and come to your aid. They can see your health what conditions you are suffering and where you are on the map.

Yes. Also good for small groups is the targeting system. If you zerg though, the targeting system is pretty useless I think.

are they? i really don’t know. I thought I had heard that they aren’t prioritized tho.
and yes, communication and seeing party members health/boon status etc is useful, but i guess I’m looking for things that actually help you during combat or something, like more direct effect on your other party members and more group synergy.
targeting is the only other thing i’ve heard here that can definitely be a good part of being in a group in, but really only in certain situations

Being able to target your raid commander.
Many guilds run around with no commander tag so pugs do not follow. We follow by call targeting our leader.
information sharing mostly.
which is how it should be.

I believe you do get priority on buffs that are limited in the number of people they affect; speed buffs from Eles, for example, are limited to 5… nearby party members now get first dibs!
