Right now, I’m farting around on a warrior with a warhorn and a banner, cycling between Inspire and Charge to get yaks running to Hills so we can get a waypoint there. A thought occured- Should Anet reinstate yak rewards? I don’t quite see how it’d be exploitable, and it might make it feel like less of a personal waste of time to be doing it. After all, if you want to get money, you can finish a COF1 run in about the time it takes to escort one of the longer yaks.

Why should Anet do that? You’re supposed to farm quartz nodes and buy stuff on the gemstore now, not play escort dollys.

I agree, it would be nice to have them back since the game has stabilized a lot more since they removed dolyak rewards so long ago.

Maybe if they would reward you for damaging the mobs that attack the dolyaks? Or if you spent (x) amount of time near the dolyaks while they were walking?

I know they took it out because all people were doing it escorting dolyaks in big mobs (which we need our dolyaks).

Totally in favour of this. I know the original reason they removed it was because bots were farming karma/XP by following yaks around. But this really is an important task we should have people doing 24/7. Getting yak deliveries more safely and 33% quicker is a huge benefit to a server, but not rewarding the effort a player makes in doing this is totally wrong.

That’s already the case, you get 10wxp for killing each mob.
