Loads of them jumping off Durios in EB from Desolation- I’m fairly sure there must have been some Gandarians doing it somewhere else, but these are just the ones I saw.

However, it’s not their fault Anet screwed up and they feel they should exploit an obviously broken mechanic to gain an unfair advantage…..

you know whats funny? getting on a thief and making them jump just to miss and wasting their time because none of them realize it has a 40 sec cd. then ganking them the second time they jump.

c’mon after months of being just a veilbot, let us have fun for a little while. being a veilbot only took away all the fun. so of course people were enjoying the bug. i kept jumping on golems in the heart of the mists for like 30 minutes, but no i didnt use it to give my team the advantage nor did i exploit it in wvw.
but for those who did, it was funny while it lasted.

I’ll donate the 10 bags I got by suicide jumping to a good cause. (Got them in two epic jumps). Was too fun to pass up the chance.

….just had a thought, ANET may have solved the server in balance issue. So many mesmers on T1 doing the suicide jump that a permaban would totally wipe out the top three server populations.

We’ll see if they actually ban anybody.

Couldn’t agree more! It is this kind of unexpected anomaly that makes for a great moment for any single class. Being completely OP in a stupid and funny way should be a must on a regular basis.. a couple of hours of mayhem every once in a while to make the community smile (and troll those knee-jerk kittenwits who over-react by screaming “Exploit” whenever something like this – an obvious bug that will get fixed quicker than you can shout “wait until after I get home from work!!” – turns up after a patch)!

And no – I’m not a Mesmer! Can’t wait for that bug that makes Necros Uber-OP for a few scant moments!

It was annoying, but I’m certainly not going to report them for having a little short lived fun.

Yeah cause everyone in WvW is playing Mesmers and not Guardians and Warriors, right?

@Xavi, well to be fair it would ban most guardians and warriors. Most mesmers have given up the class for guardians/warriors since mesmers are nothing more than veilbots in t1 zergs. All the ones yesterday were just former mesmers having fun for 15mins before going back to their real wvw classes.

All these people did is use a very simple trait that YOU gave them. It’s not like anyone was using some insane glitch to pull this off, all anyone did is trait for fall damage. Don’t start banning people because youre awful at updating your own game.

We all had a chuckle when a single mesmer wiped our party at the gate of a tower. However he continued to use this tactic over and over and over. Rendering flame rams useless. We had to adapt our siege to cata’s and then veil in to avoid the drop-bomb when the doors went down.

It’s funny the first time — but after the 10+ time it essentially boils down to cheating.

EDIT: It should be obvious that it was a game bug and using it continually was abuse. I think players that continued to use the bug for hours should receive a small, non-permanent ban. It was like a bunch of children ruining the game for all so they could feel god-mode rush. I don’t have any sympathy for players that abused the bug. My main is a mesmer and you didn’t see me rushing to the nearest tower to play this stupid joke over and over.

If you fell for that 10 times, the mesmer deserves all the bags he got.

It’s fixed now, so don’t expect it to happen again. :p

worst justification post ever. So guild groups of uplevel memsers had no idea they were abusing an obvious bug while they just all happened to being doing nothing but running around trying to find ways to fall on folks?

All the people that made money on the golem duplication, they were just using in game tools as well right?

You were doing it wrong. If you did like Thieves (MI, Veil or decoy and then JUMP to foe/foes) you would get it perfect!

I think they would deserve a ban for that exploit.

I’m currently a mesmer – I’m really piqued I didn’t find out about this until it was over.
