First of all, I apologise if this isn’t the place for this topic but it seemed the most appropriate place.

I’d like to know how you report a hacker on the opposing team in WvW.

Yesterday I was roaming around and ‘faced’ a thief that would go into stealth everytime he wanted, with no animation, nothing at all. He would simply disappear and entered stealth mode.

How do I know he was hacking? Well he didn’t do animations at all and I’ve been playing a thief for 2 months now, it’s my main char so I know a thing or two about him.

I would recommend game recording software. Otherwise your word is simply “hearsay” to AreaNet and probably not worth their time investigating.

Lol my post got deleted. Apparently I can’t say those kind of stuff. But really ? They are going to give me infraction points. But not ban hackers? This makes me want to punch a baby in the face.

Anet really needs to have some sort of report hacking option with a description as to what the person is doing, and have some sort of quick response for the reporting.

For example, someone from a server I will not mention, was under the map killing our siege in one of our keeps/towers about 6-7 hrs ago. It would almost appear as if the person was a mesmer clone, but he kept popping up from under the map to kill siege, and nothing else. I was not the only one to see this happen, and it was too random for me to get a screenshot.

But even in this case, I couldn’t target this person to even report for botting or anything.

This sort of stuff seems to be happening more and more lately and Anet seems to be content with sitting around with their thumbs up their butt doing nothing about it. I’ve seen a lot of guardians who can stealth and fly across the map, people who hide under the floor and attack doors to keep stuff contested and you can’t do a thing about it since they’re beneath the floor. I’ve also seen warriors who can teleport and jump over walls.

Yep. They prefer to give infraction to people talking about releveant subjects in the forums, instead of banning hackers. Cute, isn’t it?

Since this game has no anti hack, hacking is very common especially in WvW.

I <3 infraction points. But seriously Anet needs to get anti hacking stuff running. Like Blizzard.

You can’t report hackers, If you do you get an infraction. No matter the prof you have.

Can we get a staffer to comment on this? Will there be an option soon to report hackers expressly, whether targeted reporting or general reporting to note that there is someone currently hacking that we cant target?

Make a support ticket. Seriously.

Even if they do implement the in-game report function, you can only imagine how many times it will be used. Then they have to sift through all those 1,000s of reports and determine which are legit and which are just another player not understanding game mechanics. The man hours alone involved with that will be phenomenal.

Conversely, people complain about the exploits, but are too lazy to create a ticket. So they have fewer of those to contend with, and those who do file the ticket will get attention as a result.

If the hack/exploit is indeed very serious and you aren’t seeing anything resolved, create a support ticket, document all your evidence with photos and video (use a site like photobucket.com and just put in links to your images, because Anet’s system automatically rejects images over a certain size), and file it under “violation.” .. What they want to know from you for full info is: What’s the hacker’s account name (you can get this by using the in-game reporting system), where it happened (which map, which server), when it happened, and what toon you were on when you witnessed the exploit.

Help Anet to help you. If they don’t know about it, they can’t do anything about it. Creating the ticket also gives them way more information than simply right clicking in-game report of the offender. If you can’t be bothered to create the support ticket, then you’ll just have to accept that this guy will probably stick around a long while.

Fastest way to solve this is a ticket.

Or they can make their own program that detects abnormal commands and detect exploits/ hacks. Just like in WoW. Such an amazing program

EVERY single hacking post I have ever created has been deleted within minutes.. I’m surprised this is lasting so long.
But really there is no way to report a hacker in game, they claim reporting for “botting” does it but I’ve had my entire guild of ~20-30ppl report a hacker with this the same time and he still returns everyday using the same hacks.. The only time my violations have seemd to work was when i managed to get their account name via party joining..which people are adapting to.. Screen shots don’t work, this i promise as I’ve submited 10+ on one hacker in particular including what i said early about my whole guild group reporting him.
Add a report hack option with a team that will actually enforce it.

If you right click the report function in game, it will give you the player’s account name. You don’t even have to party with them. And send the screen shots in via “violation” … because that’s what it is.

This hasn’t worked for months.

Do a /invite or /join, waypoint or wait a couple minutes hoping they don’t run away and cancel it. Then you’ll see the account name instead of “Server Invader.”

Ah last time I did it, it worked. Haven’t had to report anyone in game for a month or so. Wonder if targeting the guy and typing /friend would work? (Nope, doesn’t .. just tried)

they may or may not be hacking, it can be due to culling, or just server lag where the guys hitbox is in a totally different place than his avatar.

but iv’e seen my fair share of hacks as well, but some of the time it was due to culling or just plain server lag.

I got the same problem I got a screenshot of a player, non mesmer, that managed to get inside a “BlueBriar” Tower without even breaching the walls. When we where about to get in, it was capture it was just him.
