Request to Commanders/Guild Raids
Why should we, this is Anet job, we are here to play the game, not to stay 1-2-3 hours in some structure watch a empty wall, because Anet have been lazy for two and a half years.
If I’m assigning one of people in my guild raid to scout, that means, that 4 others will be missing stability/condi cleanse or the entire raid will lose waterfields/veil (depending on who would be doing the scouting.
Besides, scouting is NOT the reason people join guild raid, we want to have some fun playing together, fighting enemies, not sitting in a tower.

If only Sentries were actually doing their job and reporting enemy troop movements…
Would also give an incentive to attack them ahead of time to make them report only a few attackers, while the full zerg could then pass unnoticed.
I always use sentry turrets when i defend keep.

Thanks for highlighting exactly why people don’t bother volunteering for scouting. Your response is ’we’re more important, someone else less important can do the spotting for us so that we can have all the fun’. Completely selfish.
Scouts are there to tell you where the enemy is that you are looking to fight, but your attitude is that scouting is beneath you. Next time you ask where the enemy is and then moan about there being no scout reports, ponder your own failings.

Lol, totally wrong. It’s simple, there are people with different goals/preferences in WvW. There are ones, that more fight oriented, and then there are people, who enjoy building/scouting/defending/flipping camps around objectives. The point is, not to force anyone to playstyle he DOES NOT want. If a structure is scouted and there is a call – I will come to help, otherwise I’ll try to use map to predict enemy movement… And it is one of the reasons the recent change removing white swords is really bad – it is ANet trying to force people into one playstyle.

The only “playstyle” I see now is K-training…
WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing

Was there, by any chance, a way to predict that?
Oh, wait…

I agree the recent change is a complete slap in the face as far as trying to find fights- the map just looks totally dead now unless someone tags your keep, which makes even more people just not bother with wvw. As I belong to the server that gave up on points a long time ago in favour of looking for the fights, I totally understand your comment about different playstyles.
But bear in mind a lot of the people doing the scouting don’t particularly want to waste time sitting there either- it’s just that if they don’t do it, no one will, so they aren’t playing the way they want either.
All the recent changes seem designed to force people into doing what Anet want them to do rather than ‘play how I want’, and i wonder where it will all end.
